1 2. Training the following process is a guide on how to train employees and contractors: a. Pre-employment training this training takes place during the preemployment/contract phase for EKG with the following topics: i. EKG Overview ii. Private Security and the Criminal Justice System iii. Overview of the Private Security Business (Code 43-38) iv. Crime Awareness and Prevention v. Arrest and Proper Use of Force vi. Liability vii. Responding to Emergencies viii. Ethics & Professionalism ix. Respect in the Workplace x. Report Writing xi. Public Relations (Customer Service) xii. CPR/First Aid Training xiii. Conclusion and summary b. On-the-job training (OJT) every security officer must complete OJT for each site where he/she works. The general OJT form is attached. c. Basic Security Officer (BSO) every security officer must complete the state mandated training within six months of employment. The employee will be eligible for an incentive if he/she completes the course within thirty days. The course description is attached. d. Senior Security Officer (SSO) BSOs who desire to be promoted or receive increases in their pay rate must receive a promotion to SSO. SSOs are security officers who have attained a BSO qualification, worked with EKG for at least one year, and completed the SSO course. The course description is attached. e. Site Supervisor Site supervisors are either laterally hired from another company or are promoted from an SSO level. They must also complete the site supervisor course. The training they receive focuses on policy, HR, management and leadership. The course description is attached. f. Senior Management Senior management are either area or division managers. They are responsible for business units. As such their training focuses on policy, HR, management and leadership. The course description is attached. EKG will use Litmos software and web-site (ekgsecurity.litmos.com) as a means for tracking training, using training videos for training and testing someone s understanding of the concepts. Employees or contractors will receive an from Litmos that directs them to the web-site so they can complete the course. The will follow the below path to complete a course:
2 Invitation Employee or Contractor is added to training system and is assigned a course Employee or Contractor receives to log-in from Litmos. Registration Employee or Contractor completes registration at the ekgsecurity.litmos.com web-site Course Work Employee or Contractor starts the assigned course They will complete each video and test in order that it is shown on the site. Course Completion Employee or Contractor completes the assigned course. Employee is provided a completion certificate & it is logged in the training folders. It is recommended that you have a paper test to accompany each video so you have an idea what may be asked and what is important. 9 Basic Security Officer Course Course Description and Outline a combination of on-the-job training, videos and lectures will be used to train Basic Security Officers in accordance with the Secretary of State of Georgia Board Rule ( Training is conducted in accordance with the board rule and board decisions. Before a Basic Security Officer can assume a post, he/she must have undergone on-the-job training at the site.
