2 Program Design & Goal: The IED has profoundly changed the military formation order of battle, leveling the playing field between an asymmetric enemy and U.S. / Coalition forces both on land and sea. In the Homeland, the threat has never been greater. Attacking the malicious use of explosives in the battlefield or at home depends upon a well-coordinated, whole-of-government effort to IED defeat. The 2017 EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium brings together a whole-of-government approach with both military and civil offices, as well as key leaders in industry with the sole objective of advancing the mission critical needs of each respective community in IED defeat. DSI s team specializes in the extensive research and development of our Summits' content and focus areas, and we will assemble the most respected minds in the EOD/IED & Countermine community, as well as key policy-makers across military and civilian offices. Our non-partisan approach allows us to reach across all services and organizations to bring together a truly holistic group of decision makers and solution providers. DSI s Symposium directly supports DoD & US Government priorities by providing a conduit for officials to efficiently reach audiences outside of their respective offices that directly impact their department's/ agency mission success, at no charge to the government, and in an efficient Operating Guidelines: expenditure of time. DSI s Symposium will provide a forum to address and improve internal and external initiatives, meet with and hear from partner organizations, disseminate vital capability requirements to industry, increase visibility within the larger community, and generally support their mission. The Summit is open and complimentary to all DoD and Federal employees and is considered an educational and training forum. Summit is CLOSED TO PRESS / NO RECORDINGS General Target Audience: Solution providers, Government Agencies and DoD Commands, as well as Academia interested in supporting IED defeat for the Armed Services in both expeditionary environments, and the homeland. Attendees will hear from DoD, DHS and Law Enforcement on emerging EOD/C-IED policies, requirements, R&D, as well as near and long term goals for the IED defeat across the DoD Enterprise. Attacking the malicious use of explosives at home depends upon a wellcoordinated, all-of-nation, whole-of-government effort that prioritizes the development of intuitive IED Defeat training techniques that supplement both the Government s and Local Law Enforcement s level of C-IED capability. As subject matter experts, panelists joining this important discussion will provide the delegation with updates on the cutting-edge training techniques that support IED defeat for C-IED operations in the Homeland.
