1 NOTICE TO JOB APPLICANTS We are pleased that you have chosen to explore employment with Anchorage Community Development Authority. We take pride in providing accessible, convenient and affordable parking options and other services for persons who frequent business and industry in downtown Anchorage. In keeping with our drive to provide exceptional customer service, ACDA has a dress code. We are providing that code to you so that there will be no surprises either during the employment interview process or afterwards. The following is an excerpt from our Employee Handbook. All employees are expected to maintain and project a clean, neat, and professional appearance on duty. All clothing, safety vests and uniforms must be clean, neat, unwrinkled and in good repair. Tears, missing buttons or other malfunctions must be repaired. Non-uniformed personnel are expected to wear appropriate attire. Generally, T-shirts, halter tops, strapless tops, tank tops (unless worn under a jacket or sweater), cropped tops, muscle shirts, shirts with offensive or vulgar wording or advertising, clothing with holes, tight-fitting, baggy, revealing, sheer so as to reveal undergarments, shorts, flip-flops, crocs, slippers, athletic shoes, sandals that do not have a heel strap or a strap across the instep/arch and similar items of apparel are not acceptable. All clothing must be worn properly and pants/slacks must be worn at the natural waist line. Other articles of clothing not listed may be deemed inappropriate at management s discretion if not in line with maintaining a professional appearance or posing a potential safety hazard. Hair must be clean and neat, facial hair must be neatly trimmed and clean. Exposed tattoos must not be provocative, sexist, indecent, racist, disruptive, profane, vulgar, offensive, obscene, or contain objectionable words or imagery as determined by management. Earrings are acceptable; however, no more than four earrings per ear may be worn. Body piercings of the eyelid, eyebrow, tongue, or other body parts visible to the public may not be worn while on duty. One small stud may be worn on the nose. Criminal Convictions: A criminal conviction, including nonjudicial punishment issued during military service by a military tribunal, military administrative agency, or by a commanding officer, for offenses comparable to violations of federal, state, and local criminal laws, will not always constitute grounds for disqualification. The type and number of charges for which an applicant was convicted, date of the conviction(s), as well as the relationship to the applied for position will be evaluated. However, a criminal conviction for an offense involving moral turpitude within 7 years prior to the application may result in applicant disqualification. Failure to completely and accurately explain conviction(s) may also result in disqualification of theapplication. Background Check: Anchorage Community Development Authority (ACDA) and EasyPark positions require a background check before an appointment is confirmed. Drivers License: If selected for interview for a position requiring a driver s license, you will be required to show your valid driver s license at the time of interview. If your driver s license is not issued by the State of Alaska, you will have 90 days to obtain an Alaska Driver s license. Additional periods of service will be recognized if authorized by Congress.
