I have big shoes to fill. Commander Lynch did an outstanding job and it was an honor to stand with him as we traveled throughout New England, and points beyond. From a very rocky start at our National Convention in Reno, where he suffered a heart attack, he demonstrated what resolve and a can do attitude can accomplish. I want to have a year as successful as my predecessor. I will ask this though. Just a little harder push, a little extra effort, and an earlier start on working membership. And remember, it does no good to recruit new members if they go out the back door and we don t retain them. Mentor the new member.

4 Call them. Ask them how are they doing. Offer them a ride to the Post Meeting. GET THEM INVOLVED. Let s make this Department 100% again. We CAN do it. Last, but not least, the Ladies Auxiliary and the Men s Auxiliary are an important part of the Department. Without them, are goals will be harder to reach. We are a family, and working together, we can accomplish fantastic things. Let s help each other to 100%. Until next time, I am Committed to serving our Nations Heroe s Jim Golden Commander 6)CLARIFICATION: For purposes of clarification, we do not operate as a men s organization or a ladies organization, but as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Ladies Auxiliary. 7) REQUEST FOR DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE: Request for a Department Representative for a special event, must be submitted in writing to the Department Adjutant, PO Box 6025, East Rochester, NH or stateheadquarters@nh.vfwwebmail.com 8) JOINT STATE OUTING 2013: The Annual Joint State Outing will be in Littleton at the Post Home July 6, There will be Karaoke on Friday night, Committee meetings, Council meetings and Picnic on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday.
