Ahhh, Minnesnowta and the Twins are playing a Double Header today at Target Field! 2 SAL Stuff Bruce Bigler Commander Greetings Earthlings, Great weather...this is the first time I have seen Christmas, right after Easter. I hope by the time this is published we are not going to have opening fishing with our ice augers!!!!!!! All fun aside, I would like to thank all of the people that showed up for our Meat Raffle / Bingo on April 13. We had new people help us out, and a special thanks to Bob Nelson, Tami, and Paul (the Karaoke King) for their great effort. Thanks to all of our SAL members who helped fold tickets and sell them on Saturday. Mac did a great job of having everything ready to go on time for our event. Our Meat Raffle / Bingo was a great success; as you know the profits made go to helping our veterans and their families. We will also be sending two past Commanders (Rick Williams and Rich Jensen) to our 3 rd District Convention on May 17, 18 and 19 in New Prague. I am sure they will do us proud! Don t forget our BIG Legion Holidays coming up: Memorial Day and the 4 th of July. A great time to be had by all and a perfect time to remember our Veterans! As always, remember our Veterans and their families! Bruce Bigler American Legion Post 1776 SAL Chaplain s Chat Rich Davey Post 1776 Chaplain May 2013 Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands, protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need, Amen For those who have recently lost a loved one, my heartfelt condolences for your loss. For those that may be ill at this time, I wish a speedy recovery. Please attend this month s Memorial Day Services here at the Post and remember those that gave their lives for our freedom. Road Less Traveled As Mother Nature turns her finger up at us telling us we are number 1 (Ha Ha), don t be disappointed. As a few of us have taken advantage of the few nice days she has given us. She is only reminding us we live in Minnesota, we should expect the un-expected from her, otherwise this would not be Minnesota. So let s roll up our skirts, get our panties out of a bunch and enjoy riding. Our bikes are waiting for us and the open road. It is only a matter of time before the sun is beaming down on us as we are flying down the road on our bikes with our friends. So here s to Mother Nature, may see come to her senses and stop being frigid. Smile all will be better soon. Remember "A veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America for amount of up to and including my life. That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." Mark your Calendars for July 20th, 2013 for this year s 1776 American Legion Riders Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride. It is going to be a blast. Support us on Facebook by going to the 1776 American Legion Riders Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride page. Leave a comment and commit to attend, even if you do not ride as there will be a silent auction and other activities. Check Out the 1776 Legion Riders New Website!! You can even make a donation to the 1776 legion riders on the website. God Bless!!!! Riding and Still Serving.. Mark Ceminsky Commander/Director 1776 American Legion Riders Chaplain s Chat (continued from left) Please Pray for Peace, your Family and the Future of our country. Dear Lord, please protect our troops defending our freedoms in foreign lands. Bring them all home safely! All gave some Some gave ALL!
