Why do you think that you are qualified to be a SkillsUSA Wyoming State Officer? 2. What is your best asset? What is your worst trait? How do they both benefit and inhibit the goals of a team? 3. 3 State Officer Questions for Interviews The following questions may be asked at the Wyoming State SkillsUSA Conference during the Delegate Meet the Candidate session or Interview Session. Be prepared to answer them or some variation of them. Questions not listed below may also be asked of you during these sessions. 1. What is the main purpose of SkillsUSA? 2. What is your favorite part of the emblem and why? 3. How do you feel that you can promote SkillsUSA in Wyoming as a State Officer? 4. Describe your relationship with your advisor and your local SkillsUSA Chapter? How will your advisor, administration, and parents support you and your obligations as a State Officer? 5. What does SkillsUSA mean to you and how has SkillsUSA played an important role in your life? 6. How do you handle a task when it is given to you? 7. How do you handle stress, multitasking, and time management? 8. If you are applying for another term as a State Officer, a. What did you learn being a State Officer that you could apply as a returning State Officer? b. What was your best experience as a State Officer before and why? c. Wyoming Career Technical Student Organizations CODE OF CONDUCT Purpose: The Code of Conduct was developed by the Wyoming CTSO Advisory Council to set the highest standards for personal conduct of official activities. These regulations will apply to State Officers attending any Career Technical Student Organization State Officer function, including summer conference. This will include the visitation of other state CTSO activities. They do not in any way supersede your own organization s rules at your own respective activities. State Officers attending a Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) conference are expected to follow their own official dress code. While attending another organization s activities, they will wear casual business attire unless otherwise informed of special activities. 1. The possession or consumption of any intoxicating beverage or narcotic drug by any officer is prohibited. (This excludes prescription drugs.) The local authorities may be notified of the incident. 2. Officers of the opposite sex are not allowed in sleeping rooms in hotels or motels unless an advisor is present in the room. Any violation of this rule may be considered misconduct. 3. Defacing of property any damages to, or loss of furnishing located on the premises of a CTSO function will be paid for by the individual responsible. The local authorities may be notified of the incident. 4. The use of tobacco, in any form, in public will not be permitted while a state offer is representing his/her CTSO. 5. Any violation of curfew will be considered misconduct. 6. Officers will be prohibited from conference participation without authorization from State Advisor. 7. Out of town officers will spend nights at assigned hotel and assigned rooms. Conference area officers not staying at the hotel shall be off the grounds of the hotel by curfew or immediately following the last scheduled event. 8. Any conduct, disruptive or not, that does not adhere to an educational conference and/or environment will not be allowed or tolerated. 9. Possession or use of a weapon of any kind is prohibited 10. Engaging in sexual harassment, abusive language, ethnic/racial slurs, or conduct unbecoming of an officer will not be tolerated. Any Violation of Rules 1 through 10 subjects an officer to immediate suspension and, therefore, the officer will be sent home from the conference. Transportation home will be arranged at the officer s/parents expense. Due process and offer for hearing will be followed at a later time. NOTE: A. Misconduct is any act which brings criticism or discredit to the Career Technical Student Organizations. B. For the purpose of interpreting these rules, a state or national activity or event will start at the time a CTSO officer leaves home and continues until the officer arrives home.

6 WYOMING CAREER TECHNICAL STUDENT ORGANIZATION OPERATING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND CODE OF CONDUCT (In addition to specific CTSO Operating procedure and Code of Conduct) VERIFICATION STATEMENT This is to acknowledge I have read and understand the Policies and Procedures and Code of Conduct under which Wyoming CTSO offices operate, and specific CTSO operating procedures and code of conduct for my organization. By signing below, I give assurance that I understand the duties and time commitments for which I am responsible when elected to state office. I have investigated all potential time conflicts (sports teams, special events, extra-curricular activities, employment commitments, and other activities such as Boy s/girl s State, People to People, Close-Up, ACT/SAT test, etc.) Based on this investigation, I agree that I can and will fulfill all state officer duties. I understand that failure to do so means removal from my office. Duties of a Wyoming CTSO State Officer include as a minimum: Attendance at state officer training session(s), active participation at required conferences (Fall, National Fall, Regional, State and National Conferences), participation in planning meetings scheduled throughout the year.
