PAX Terminal Immigratio n PAX Terminal Immigratio n Visa -A-3 Offical Travel -Tourist Mil = No, FM = SM = No FM = No SM = No FM = SOFA Status SM= FM=No (in the states) Baggage Except for Korean Nationals who have no need for a Visa, all dependents of active duty military residing in Korea must have a valid visa in their passport. No fee passports should automatically contain an A-3 Visa. Dependents who have an A- 3 Visa must also apply for a SOFA Stamp (see next section). NCS dependents may enter Korea for 90-days on their tourist passport but then must leave the country for 24 hours before being allowed to return for another 90-day visit. Extended Visas may be obtained via the Korean Embassy/Consulate in the States for NCS dependents prior to coming to Korea. SOFA Status is not related to Sponsorship. Go to PAX Terminal Immigration office within 30 days of arrival to have SOFA stamp placed in dependent Passport. Need copy of orders for military sponsor showing PCS to Korea. All personnel are entitled to shipment of Hold Baggage, typically lbs (see JTR). Please note restrictions on size/type of items that can be included in this shipment

Because most on- and off-base housing are apartments and may not have balconies or yards, do not bring outside furniture, mowers, etc. Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) SM=N/A FM=N/A since is already in the states SM=N/A FM= All Families must participate in annual NEO exercises in Korea and can be ordered to evacuate in times of war or hostilities. Non-command sponsored families are authorized assistance and are also required to participate in NEO exercises in Korea. NEO Masks Mil is issued IPE suit Family issued adult and/or child emergency masks Mil is issued IPE suit Family = Mil is issued IPE Emergency masks available for Non-CSP members if annotated on a signed letter suit NCS from sponsor's unit NEO Warden. When looking for an off-base apartment, furnished units are available. Furniture, especially beds, will be smaller sizes and of limited selection. No All on-base quarters are furnished with appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator). CSP families living off-base can receive appliances for the duration of their PCS. Non-CSP families will not be provided appliances. When looking for an off-base apartment, furnished units with Korean appliances are available. US-style stoves with ovens are not usually available. Gas cooktops are traditional. NOTE: At the beginning of the school year, DODEA will not normally accept non-csp students for the first several weeks. This is in order to determine the total number of CSP students enrolled. Then they can see if there are any spare desks available. Depending upon teacher- student ratio, one class may be able to enroll a CSP student while the next one cannot. DODEA must determine availability on an individual class-by-class basis. As of School Year , DODEA-Korea has significantly restricted enrollment of non- CSP students. International Schools if desired by if desired by AB does not provide any guidance or assistance for families desiring to send their children to local religious or international schools. While there are a few in the area (mostly near Pyeongtaek City), the base cannot endorse any particular school.

NOTE: There are several parent or support groups that can assist families that would like to use this option. DECA Commissary w/ Ration Card w/ Ration Card Commissaries will serve anyone with a valid Ration Control Card / CAC when in Korea. Must observe monthly spending limits. AAFES Base Exchange / Shoppette / Gas The BX will service anyone with a valid Ration Control Card / CAC when in Korea. Must observe monthly liquor limits. AAFES Theater / Food Outlets / Concessionaires Theater, Concessionaires, and Food Court (including BK, Popeye's, American Eatery, etc) do not require ration card. 51CS Post PO Box Post box assigned to military member. Adult dependents are allowed to pickup packages. 51CS Post Mailing All members can mail packages (subject to normal mailing restrictions) if they have Packages an mailbox. 51FW/JA Legal Services Legal services are available to all SM and their dependents for personal civil legal matters IAW AFI Medical Services TRICARE TRICARE Prime TRICARE Prime SM=TRICARE Prime FM =TRICARE Standard or Plus TRICARE Prime: most care is provided by a Primary Care Manager at a military treatment facility, referrals are required for specialty care. All medical costs are covered. TRICARE Plus: covers primary care services within the Clinic only. Enrollment can be limited and depends on overall Clinic capacity (a waiting list often exists). Referrals are not required, all care outside the Clinic is covered under Tricare Standard. TRICARE Standard: annual deductible required. Member is responsible to pay a percentage of the total cost (cost share), referrals are not required. Some Korean hospitals require full payment upfront and member must file Tricare claim afterwards to recoup covered amount of cost share. Dental Services Mil= FM= SM= FM=in the U.S. SM= FM=No All command sponsored families are authorized to use BASIC Dental Services,all other services will be referred to host nation providers off-base. Non-command sponsored will be seen for emergent dental care only, and referred to host nation providers for routine care. Some services may be available only at USAG Yongsan or off-base.

5 /Non- Matrix Pharmacy Mil= FM= SM= FM=in the U.S. SM= FM= All command sponsored and non-command sponsored families are authorized to use the Pharmacy for prescriptions. Non-formulary or special order medications are only available by order of a 51 MDG provider. Veterinarian Services Veterinary care is authorized for pet owners possessing a valid DOD military identification card. Veterinary services are the same for personnel living off the installation as for those living on the installation. It is required that you register any pets with the Veterinary Treatment Facility (VTF) located in building 766 within 10 days of purchase or 10 days of arrival at. All pets must be current on Rabies Vaccination and must have a microchip per USFK policy. 51SFS Defense Biometric Identification System SM only, whole must register USFK policy is that all children, regardless of age, are to be registered in DBIDS to ensure proper purchase limits. Must be accomplished within 10 days of arrival. NOTE: Family members must present passport(s) to register in DBIDS 51SFS Ration Control Card Mil = No FM = SM=No FM=No SM = No, FM = 51SFS Escorting onto base Mil = FM = SM= FM= SM = FM = For military members, the CAC serves as the ration card. Family members receive ration control cards after 24hours once registered in DBIDS and attend Newcomers Orientation for their community. NOTE: Sponsors must be present to sign for Ration Cards Only if registered in DBIDS. Dependents must be age 16+ to escort someone onto the base POV Shipment Only E7 & Above Only E7 & Above Per USFK Regulation 190-1, unaccompanied E6 and below are not authorized to ship a vehicle to Korea. & 51SFS POV Licensing E7 & Above () E7 & Above () All E-7 and above and all command-sponsored members are authorized to obtain a USFK driver's license. All E6 and below, and ALL non-command sponsored dependents, require an exception to policy to obtain a USFK driver's license. The letter must be signed by the first 0-5 or above in their chain of command (generally approved only if member is living off-base).

Any E6 and below living off-base may request an exception to register a vehicle. 2nd vehicles will require an exception and will only be approved for command sponsored families living off-base with a compelling justification. 2nd vehicles will not be approved for non-command sponsored families. Child Development Center N/A, not in Korea Space A for NCS families First priority will be given to active duty military and DoD civilian personnel who are either single or dual working parents working outside their home or a single full-time student. The Child Development Center provides full-time contracted child care and Space Available hourly care for children six weeks to five years of age. The Child Development Center (CDC) and Part-Day Preschool (PDPS) Program are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. School Age Program (SAP) Before & After School N/A, not in Korea Space A for NCS families Limited to children enrolled in DODEA schools. For Grades K-5 Youth & Teen Centers N/A, not in Korea Airman and Family Readiness Center For Grades 6-12 If you are a US ID holder, you are authorized Readiness Center services. It is not based on whether you are or Non- sponsored. The Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) is the service organization and focal point for Air Force airmen and matters. Human Resource FM must have A-3 Visa N/A ( is not in FM must have A-3 Visa Non-command families are not eligible to work without a A-3 visa or they must obtain a work permit to live and work in South Korea. College Education SM= FM=N/A SM=, FM=Space A Community Center SM= FM=N/A SM= FM=Age 18+ All classes are subject to space availability in the class room. For emergencies, dependents may travel CAT I to the emergency destination. HOWEVER, they are not authorized Space-A return II: Sponsors on Environmental Morale Leave (EML) and their dependents. III: Members of the uniformed services in a leave or pass status IV: sponsored dependents (18 years or older) flying unaccompanied on EML orders & DoDDS Teachers on EML during summer vacation. V: Dependents traveling without their sponsor. VI: Retired military members and dependents (up to age 23 with a valid identification card) when accompanied by a sponsor. Emergency Leave No Only CS members and their sponsor will be obligated by the government for transportation back to the states for Emergency Leave situations. SM can be authorized Emergency Leave. NCS members are not eligible for government funded travel. & Dependent Education Travel No No Education travel only authorized for members included on the orders to. Red Cross Red Cross services available to anyone. Fitness Center SM= FM=N/A SM= FM=Age Children under age 16 are not allowed in unaccompanied 16+ Club Membership We encourage everyone to join the Club system for its benefits. Please remember to move your membership location upon arrival. MWR Activities All active duty, dependents, and US civilians can enjoy any available MWR activities and events. Airline Tickets for Official Travel Mil= FM= for PCS SM= FM=See SM= FM=No Official travel orders required. *FM tickets authorized from designated location to new permanent duty station. On-base Shuttle Bus Shuttle bus runs in the morning and afternoon primarily for military. But anyone can ride Space- Available. Women Infant and Children Program (WIC) Overseas, WIC Overseas Program - W IC Program in the States, W IC Overseas Program The W IC Overseas Program is available to eligible participants living overseas, including DoD Civilians/Contractors, Family Members, and service members.
