2 This Hand book is the rules and regulation of Pack 127. It is written for the parents and leaders so as to inform them on rules and procedures. The Cub Master reserves the right and has the authority to temporarily suspend rules and by laws as circumstances may requires. Furthermore, the Cub Master has the sole and overriding authority to make situational exceptions to such." All Concerns request or complaint shell follow the chain of command as shown on the organization chart. Dues: There is a pack dues of $15 per month which is paid annually. These pack dues are to pay for overhead expenses that the pack has. South Florida Council Registration Fee : Each year the Boy Scouts of America has a registration fee which is paid separately to the South Florida Council. This Fee is set by BSA Project fees: Sometimes a Den may come up with an activity or project they want to do. If there is a special cost then there will be a project fee for the material or entrances fee need to complete the project. Disciplined and Conduct Award procedure. Reward coins: conduct coins will be given for good conduct and to encourage good habits. Reward coins will be given to a scout who is on time, in proper uniform, and the uniform in order. If the scout is on time he will be given one Reward coin. If the scout is in uniform and in proper order he will be given one reward coin. If the scout brings his scout book he will be given one Reward point Once a Reward point has been given it cannot be taken away for misconduct. The Reward coins will be used to receive or pick a prize from the Pack Treasure Chest. In order for the Scout to exchange his Reward coins for an item he must have a minimum of 10 coins in order for him to open the treasure box. Once the Scout reaches the 10 coins he has the right to exchange it for an item or save his coins to purchase a more valuable items. With this Reward coins system we hope to encourage good behavior and motivation toward scouting. The Pack Treasure Box is a box which has numerous amount of items which can be purchased with Reward coins. The Reward coins needed to purchase an item will depend on the value of the items. All treasure chests will be marked with the amounts of coins needed to purchase the item. Parents are encourage to contribute to the treasure chest. The more items are in the chest the more the Scout is motivated to have better conduct and motivation.
3 Discipline rules for misconduct First offense scout will be talk to by a Leader Second offense the scout will be taken to one side and talked to by the Cubmaster Third offense the scout will receive timeout. Fourth offense the parents of the scout will be asked to handle the problem. Timeout will be calculated at 30 seconds per year of age of the scout. When a scout is put in timeout the leader or an adult will go with the child and explain why he is in timeout and what needs to be done to correct the behavior problem.. Good standing with the pack: a good standing member of the pack is a person who meets the minimum requirements for the pack. The requirements are as follow: Must attend at least 50% of all meetings. Must participate in at least one fundraisers event. Must attend at least two campouts or events a year. Must attend at least two scheduled Scout mass per year If the scout is not in good standing with the pack then the leaders council will review and decide what action is to be taken if any. Meetings the structure of the meeting will be as follow: Opening ceremony prayers and treasure chest. Uniform policies: Explanation of agenda and goals for the meeting Skills lessons Games Closing ceremony and summary of achievements and any special announcements Class a uniform will be required for all meetings. In pioneering projects or other projects that may damage or staying the uniform a class B shirt can be worn underneath the class a uniform. Once the open ceremony has been done the scout will be allowed to take his class a uniform top off and hang it on a hanger properly.
4 Class B uniforms will be used in day events, and camping after morning ceremony. A new scout will have a one month grace period before the uniform policy go into effect with the new scout. Along with their uniform the Scout is required to bring their proper Cub Scout Handbook to every meeting, unless otherwise announced. Scout mass: Every Scout and Leader will be in class A uniform. Fund raisers: Uniform attire will be announced. Camping trips Camping trip registrations must be done no later than seven days prior to camp out or deadline. Camping fees will consist of camping sites fees if BSA Site and food fees. If Camping trip is not a BSA location each site must be reserved and paid by the parents individually. Example:State Parks. Any special events which are planned or available are a separate then camping trip fees. The food menu can be found online. If the family or scout have special needs they can bring any food they wish. No discounts will be given on the Meals. Camping fees are due upon registration Cancellations and refunds will be issued until they have been used, then no refunds will be issued. Leaders and adult will be ask for their preference of duties upon registration of the camp out. Duties will be assigned from the choice in a first come first choice manner. Each scout is required to have a reusable cup and mess kit Each scout is required to maintain an wash their eating utensils Dens will be assigned cleaning assignments after each meal with leaders supervision. No alcohol will be permitted on the campsite. All meals will be together as a pack and prayers will be done prior to eating. Designated Campouts
5 Campouts which allow one day event will be a designated campout. Regular campout will consist of overnight camping. Awards: The achievement awards such as belt loops will be issue in a camp fire ceremony. Camp fire Ceremony dates will be announce at the regular meeting Blue and Gold ceremony One fee will be collected for the blue and gold ceremony. The fees will be per person and will be use for the expenses accrued from putting the event together. Registrations and fees will be due no later than seven days prior to the event. All awards recognition and upgrades will be done at the blue and Gold Pack 127 website Scout website: The Cub Scout website is designed to inform and to be a tool for the scouts and family. The website will be divided into two sections. Section 1 is opened to the public this section is open so that we may interest other families in joining us. The second section of the website is open only to the members of the pack you must login and use the password in order to access the second section of the website. In the second section of the website there will be pictures of trips and events there will be a calendar that will show all meetings and events and also the calendar can be use to register for events or campouts. Pack 127 store is also available for items that your scout may need. There is no obligation to use our store is just there for convenience to the family. There will be all kinds of information available on the site and if you have any recommendations on any other topics that can be posted please let us know. Registering for campouts and events online. To register for a campout or events just go to the calendar click on a campout or event and follow the instructions. To register for campout or event in person just contact one of the leaders during a meeting and the paperwork can be done. Leaders Requirements Must take a Leadership class, Child Protection class, virtus course, First Aid and CPR course. Leader Council The leader Council will consist of all the Den Leaders. Cub master, Assistant Cub masters and Board Members.
