2 IEEE A Global Organization The IEEE is a non-profit organization for scientific and educational advancement with global membership Technical professionals working in a global marketplace where national boundaries are often a secondary issue

3 IEEE Today World s largest technical professional society Over members Live and work in over 160 countries Grouped into geographic and technical areas reflecting where members live and work Holds more than 500 international conferences annually Publishes over 30% of the world s literature in its fields More than 1.7 million documents in the IEEE/IET Electronic Library Offers more than 900 active industry standards Nearly 1,300 standards and projects under development Fosters technical innovation in many areas 38 societies and 6 technical councils representing the wide range of technical interests in the IEEE
