1 NATIONAL MISSIONARY BAPTIST FELLOWSHIP OF CHURCHES Ministers Wives Auxiliary 5302 Honeyvine Street Houston, Texas Greetings Pastors and First Ladies, The National Missionary Baptist Fellowship of Churches Pastor/Minister Wives/Wives is honored to present our 8th Annual L.C. Cook Scholarship to one of our deserving High School graduates for the upcoming June session of the NMBFC. The L.C. Cook Scholarship will be given in memory of our past President. There will be at least two (2) Scholarship recipients in June. Please make sure that all eligible High School graduates apply from your church. The Scholarship committee will review each application and decide upon the most qualified applicant. All qualified applicants may apply, but only ONE qualified applicant from your church will be chosen. Thank you for your cooperation and participation. 2 The applicant must: National Baptist Fellowship of Churches Rev. Randolph West Jr., President National Baptist Fellowship of Churches L.C. Cook Scholarship Criteria I. Be a graduating senior in which the year that they are applying for the L.C. Cook Scholarship. II. III. IV. An active member of the NMFBC for two years or more prior to applying for the L.C. Cook Scholarship. Be an active member of his/her home church. The applicant must be an active participant of the NMBFC (The Pastor has to financially represent their church according to the NMBFC guidelines). V. Submit an essay of no more than 500 words on why he/she deserves the L.C. Cook Scholarship from the National Missionary Baptist Fellowship of Churches. VI. VII. VIII. IX. Be planning to attend a Four year accredited College/University or an accredited Junior College. The monetary amount of the Scholarship for all other schools (i.e. Trade/Technical Schools) will be decided by the Scholarship Committee upon individual need. Submit a copy of the acceptance letter from the College/University in which he/she will be attending. Submit a High School Transcript reflecting their GPA. Have a letter of recommendation from the Pastor or Youth Director of the Church. X. Follow all instructions on application, which includes the attachment of all required information. XI. Mail all four corresponding names, found at the end of the application, each a copy of all required documents including essay.
