1 Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) Bursary Scholarships for 2019 DAFF Bursary Scholarships for 2019, The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) intends to award comprehensive bursary scholarships to qualifying applicants pursuing and/or intending to further their studies in critical scarce skills in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors for the 2019 academic year. The bursary will cover tuition, accommodation, books, meals and monthly allowance. The bursary awards target the previously disadvantaged and impoverished persons from poverty-stricken and rural communities. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be appointed as interns and placed with the relevant industry / research institution/institution of higher learning as young professionals. 4 Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) Bursary Scholarships for 2019 The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) invites applications for Bursary Scholarships from the unemployed South African citizens for the 2019 academic year in the following fields of study: LLB; BCom: Finance; Road Traffic Management Degree or National Diploma. Applications must: be South African citizens, be studying at an accredited South African Educational Institution in one of the above mentioned field of study, be prepared to enter into an agreement with the Road Traffic Infringement Agency and do

5 counter-service in the Road Traffic Infringement Agency upon completion of the qualification and do not have any other bursary funding. Applicants must note the following: Application forms must be posted or hand delivered by not later than the closing date. Applicants must complete bursary application forms available on the Agency website, attach certified copies of qualifications, recent academic records, Identity Document, proof of registration, proof of guardian s income, and motivational letter. Application forms Correspondence will be limited to the successful candidates. Objectives of RTIA The objectives of the agency are, despite the Criminal Procedure Act, 1977 (Act No. 51 of 1977): (a) to administer a procedure to discourage the contravention of road traffic laws and to support the adjudication of infringements; (b) to enforce penalties imposed against persons contravening road traffic laws; (c) to provide specialised prosecution support services; and (d) to undertake community education and community awareness programmes in order to ensure that individuals understand their rights and options. The agency performs its functions in terms of subsection (1)(a) of the AARTO Act by: (a) receiving notices from any issuing authority if an infringer has failed to comply with an infringement notice; (b) considering representations from an infringer with regard to an infringement notice relating to a minor infringement;

6 (c) issuing a courtesy letter to an infringer who has failed to comply with an infringement notice; (d) issuing an enforcement order against an infringer who has failed to comply with the requirements of a notification or a courtesy letter, or who has failed to appear in court; (e)issuing a warrant against an infringer who has failed to comply with an enforcement order; (f)revoking an enforcement order; and (g) updating the national contraventions register in the prescribed manner. 7 SANDF Education Trust Bursaries The dependents of SANDF members, who were killed or severely injured while on official duty subsequent to 27 April 1994, are considered as beneficiaries and may apply for a bursary to cover education expenses. Bursaries will be awarded to: Primary School Learners Secondary School Learners Tertiary Learners REQUIREMENTS Applicants must adhere to the following requirements:

Submission of certified copies of the required supporting documents as indicated on the application form. Submission of a quotation/invoice for the education expenses for the academic year. The quotation/invoice must be issued by the school on an official letterhead of the school. Tertiary Learners Completion and submission of the official application form. In the case of 1st year students a copy of the Grade 12 June examination results must accompany the application. Note: Should more than one member of a family apply for assistance, a separate application form must be submitted for each applicant.
