1 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS - BASED ON ALTHOFF CATHOLIC ENTRANCE EXAM ST. THOMAS AQUINAS SCHOLARSHIP: Students who have earned an A average in their 7 th and 8 th and who also score in the 95 th percentile or above on the Entrance Exam receive 50% off tuition for all four, provided the student maintains an A average. PRINCIPAL S SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $1,000 scholarship, non-renewable awarded to the student who scores the next highest on the Entrance Exam after the St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship recipients. Students cannot receive the St. Thomas Aquinas and the Principal s Scholarship. ALTHOFF CATHOLIC PARENTS & FRIENDS' CLUB: Four (4) $1,000 scholarships, non-renewable awarded to students who score the next highest on the Entrance Exam after the Principal s Scholarship recipient. Students cannot receive the Principal s Scholarship and Althoff Catholic Parents & Friends Club Scholarships. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WHICH YOU CAN APPLY GLENN SCHOTT SCHOLARSHIP: Several $1,000 non-renewable scholarships Applicant must have maintained at least a "B" average in their 7 th and 8 th grade and intend to continue extra-curricular participation in high school Applicant must be determined to be a quality individual within the school and community Submit one letter of recommendation from your grade school Principal and/or Althoff Catholic personnel Submit a one page essay on the topic: Why do you want to attend Althoff Catholic High School? Deadline April 6 th. ORELLA GANSMANN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $1,000 non-renewable scholarship Applicant must have maintained at least a "B" average in their 7 th and 8 th grade and intend to continue extra-curricular participation in high school Applicant must demonstrate good character and leadership qualities within the school and community.

2 Submit one letter of recommendation from your grade school Principal and/or teacher Submit a one page essay on the topic: How do you think an Althoff Catholic High School education will benefit your future? Deadline April 6 th. ASSUMPTION ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP: Five (5) $3,000 renewable scholarships Applicant must be a Baptized Catholic Applicant must be a participating member of a Belleville Diocesan Catholic Parish Applicant must have maintained a minimum of a C average in their 7 th and 8 th, if awarded the scholarship a minimum of a C average must be maintained throughout the time the student is receiving the scholarship funding. Deadline April 6 th. ANDY SCHUMACHER ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP: Two (2) $1,000 non-renewable scholarships Applicant must be a Baptized Catholic Applicant must be a participating member of a Belleville Diocesan Catholic parish Applicant must be a student of a Belleville Diocese Catholic Grade School Applicant must be registered for freshman class at Althoff Catholic Applicant must demonstrate Catholic faith, service and leadership through involvement in school clubs, organizations, parish and the community Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from your grade school Principal and/or a current or past teacher Submit a one page essay on the topic: With all of the peer pressure and distractions that surround our youth today, how do you see yourself surpassing these challenges in your high school? What do you think you can do to avoid these issues and put your faith and academics at the top of your priority list? What makes you stand out as an individual a part from your peers to ear this scholarship? Deadline April 6 th. JAMES H. WULLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $1,000 renewable scholarship Applicant must have maintained at least a C average in grade school and intend to continue participation in high school Applicant must be registered for freshman class at Althoff Catholic Applicant must demonstrate good character and school attendance

3 Submit one page essay on the following prompt: Mr. Wuller valued Catholic education; it benefited him spiritually and financially throughout his life. He attended Cathedral Catholic Grade School, Cathedral Catholic High School, St. Louis University, and St. Louis University Law School. Mr. Wuller was able to remain focused and dedicated to his studies despite having lost both of his parents by the time he was 13 old. Write about a time when you experienced a hardship and how you overcame your hardship. Examples may include, but are not limited to: loss of parent(s), sibling, medical conditions, and/or disabilities. What helped you through and how were you able to be resilient? Also, include why you wish to attend Althoff Catholic High School. Deadline April 6 th. EDMOND BAUER SCHOLARSHIPS: One (1) $1,500 renewable scholarship Applicant must maintain at least a C average for annual renewal Applicant must be determined to be a quality individual within the school and community Submit one letter of recommendation from your grade school Principal Submit a one page essay on the topic: Why do you want to attend Althoff Catholic High School? BIELKE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: Two (2) $1,000 non-renewable scholarships Applicant must have maintained at least a B average in their 7 th and 8 th grade and intend to continue their participation in high school Submit one letter of recommendation from your grade school Principal and/or Althoff Catholic personnel Submit a one page typed essay on the topic: How will an Althoff Catholic High School education contribute to your future success in college and beyond? GLEESON SCHOLARSHIPS: Two (2) $500 non-renewable scholarships Applicant must have maintained a minimum of a "B" average in their 7 th and 8 th GEORGE MARTZ SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $1,000 non-renewable scholarship Applicant must have maintained a minimum of a "B" average in their 7 th and 8 th BRUCE YOUNG SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $400 renewable scholarship Applicant must have maintained a minimum of a "C" average in their 7 th and 8 th STEPHEN J. MILLER SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $500 non-renewable scholarship Applicant must be a Notre Dame Academy 8 th grade student Applicant must have maintained a minimum of a C average for their 7 th and 8 th Applicant must submit a one page essay on the topic: Describe the role of Catholic faith in your life.

5 SCHINDLER/JANSEN SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $1,000 non-renewable scholarship Applicant must be a Holy Trinity 8 th grade student Applicant must have maintained a minimum of a C average for their 7 th and 8 th Applicant must submit a one page essay on the topic: Describe the role of Catholic faith in your life. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CHAPTER 592 SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $500 non-renewable scholarship Applicant must be an 8 th grade student of Sr. Thea Bowman, Blessed Sacrament, Queen of Peace, or Notre Dame Academy Applicant will be given to a family in need selected at the discretion of Althoff Catholic staff. SUMMER WORK PROGRAM The Althoff Catholic High School summer work program is awarded to the first 45 students who apply. Incoming freshmen through seniors are all eligible. Students duties include general maintenance work of the school building and/or school facilities. The number of hours work is specified by the Summer Work Program Supervisor. Students receive $8.00 per hour, which is then credited towards the student s bill owed. Deadline May 11 th.
