2 Newsletter - Page 2 of 6 DISTRICT 9 NEWS 2017 POSSE SCHOLARS CEREMONY Paulo Cesti, Mays Conservatory of the Arts, was named their Write Track Poetry Ambassador by the iwrite Program, Jason Taylor Foundation, and received a $500 prize. Coral Reef Sr. students, Jonathan Nicoleau, Mario Garcia, Sara Sarmiento, Maria Medina and Nicole Arce were named Posse Scholars receiving a fouryear, full-tuition scholarship to Davidson, S y r a c u s e, M o u n t Holyoke, Hamilton and Pomona. Daniel Crair, Bruna Decerega and Rachael Osman are Semi-Finalists in the 2017 Coca Cola Scholars Program. Camille Molas, SAS Homestead, is the recipient of the Papa John s/univision Orgullo de Nuestra Juventud Award, as well as, a Posse Scholar and a Silver Knight nominee in Music and Dance. LINDSEY HOPKINS TECHNICAL EDUCATIONAL CENTER VISIT WITH COMMISSIONER REBECA SOSA DOWNTOWN DORAL CHARTER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL VISIT DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. COMMUNITY BREAKFAST Daniel Lee, Mays Conservatory of the Arts, auditioned for the 2017 Grady Rayam Prize and is traveling to Lakeland in April for the opportunity to receive a $3,000 scholarship.
