15 I. Collaboration: participation & funding Create consortia with European partners (always minimum three from Europe) to find solutions to Global Challenges (pillar 3) or create competiveness through Industrial Leadership (pillar 2). As an emerging economy, India is not automatically funded by EU. The following options are possible for Indian entities: Co-Funding Mechanism (CFM) established with Indian Government (DST/DBT/MoES): successful Indian applicants in H2020 calls earmarked by DST/DBT/MoES will be funded (see DST/DBT/MoES Websites for calls and modalities). Own Funding (including in kind contribution) Under exceptional circumstances, EC will fund Indian participant. Policy Research and Innovation
16 Who can participate and eligible for funding? India: 100% reimbursement of direct costs and indirect costs /overhead charges: as per DBT norms Public & Private Academic/Research Organisations Recognised Universities/Academic Institutions (public/private) National R&D Laboratories Private R&D entities recognised as Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by DSIR Private R&D institutions, Indian NGOs/VOs should be registered in the DARPAN Portal of NITI Aayog Indian SME/Industry Rs.1.5 Crores per project, subject to matching contribution from industry.
