2 Note s from Enrichment: During the winter months when it gets dark sooner, we will not allow any children to walk home from enrichment classes. Please plan to pick your child up after each class or make arrangements for someone to come in and sign your child out. If you know your child will be hungry after school please feel free to send your child with an extra snack for afterschool activities. Please pick your child up on time. Late fee s will be as such: $5.00 for the first 5 minutes, $1.00 every minute there after. Please call Joleen Bartle or Jenn Bridge if your child will not be able to come to an Enrichment on their chosen day. ( ) This will eliminate extra phone calls. Our program gives children the tools they need to combat the negative effects of stress. As a result, children often experience higher self esteem, better sleep habits, and increase in focus and concentration and easier time with transitions. Students will build specific projects to investigate wheels and axles and then be challenged to design, build, test and modify their own creations to compete in contests against their classmates. Put on your chef s hat, and step into our lab to see what s cookin! Class will include a Science Matters Cookbook with recipes that you can make at home. 10 Kidz in Locomotion Hip Hop and Break Dancing!! This class was designed specifically for kidz who love to move and groove. Kidz will learn the fundamentals of hip hop and break dancing and basic footwork. We will create a safe and welcoming environment so that the kidz can develop their coordination skills and body awareness. 11 Science Matters: Under The Sea Plunge into this club as we dive into the wonders and mysteries of the ocean. We ll travel way down to the ocean floor and back up to the sandy shore. Dissect a squid! Along the way we ll discover spectacular sea creatures, collect and classify shells, and much more. 12 Cooking Classes are BACK! The cold weather is here. We need some good old comfort foods! Learning comes alive in the kitchen classroom, where kids mix math, science, taste and fun! Students will be preparing the dishes themselves. They will learn kitchen and food safety. Recipes will include lots of fresh healthy skillets, soups, salads, and desserts, including chicken al a king, pumpkin hand cakes, stuffed apples, chicken pot pie, pumpkin soup and more! Thinking Cap is a mobile culinary school for children. Thinking Cap teaches through edible education, an essential ingredient to raising healthy, happy children. Each week we will be sharing our dishes in class, so please let us know of any food allergies or concerns.
