Encourage clubs to strengthen themselves A strategic emphasis of Rotary is Humanitarian Service Do things bigger, better and bolder - To build communities and bridge continents District Governor Dawns work with the wheelchair distribution allowed her to share with others less fortunate in third world countries, made her proud to be a Rotarian and see the power of Rotary at work Pleased that our club has committed to undertake strategic planning to guide our club into the future and prepare a visioning plan. Polio eradication is still a major focus of Rotary Last week s foundation initiative for polio raised $2.8 million as part of the Bill & Melinda Gates donation match challenge of $200 million to date $147 million has been raised as part of that challenge The Learning Academy is an initiative through the District to provide leadership training to members of clubs through the District. A District Conference was recently held in Peterborough, celebrating over 100 years of Rotary in Canada. Wheelchair collection and distribution is continuing this year a container of chairs is heading to Afghanistan this year.
