2 CAPE CORAL HOSPITAL (636 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33990) Ambassador (non-patient) Greet, assist and escort visitors and patients to various locations in the facility. Arts in the Healthcare (patient) Take art cart to patients and visitors. Assist with crafts and visit with guests. Central Transport (patient) Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher and run errands throughout the hospital. You work side by side with other volunteers and hospital staff. Emergency Room (you must be 16 yrs. old)-(patient) Assist patients, guests and staff as needed. Provide fresh linens to rooms and change linens on beds and stretchers as needed. Run errands for staff, provide warm blankets to patients, etc. Endoscopy (patient) Assist with various duties in the department such as stocking supplies and cleaning gurneys Transport patients via wheelchair to main entrance. Floor Service (patient) Visit with patients and families. Assist patients at mealtime, giving fresh water, opening containers. Assist staff with stocking supplies and running errands. Food Service (non-patient) assist staff by stocking supplies, wiping tables. Gift Shop (non patient) Assist customers in the gift shop by ringing up items, delivering flowers. Human Resources Clerical (non-patient) General clerical duties. Assist with employee files and forms. Information Desk (non patient) assisting visitors with directions, transferring phone calls, delivering flowers. Lee Sports Medicine (patient) duties include assisting therapist in getting equipment and wiping equipment. Material Management - (non-patient) Deliver and pick up supplies throughout hospital. Medical Library (non patient) Check materials in and out of library; assist patrons in finding materials in library. Popcorn (non-patient) popping and selling popcorn to staff and visitors. Teaching Garden (non patient) work in our teaching garden with our Master Gardner harvesting and planting. Thrift Store _ (non-patient) Assist with daily operation by ringing sales, displaying and sorting donations. Uniform Store (non patient) duties include pricing uniforms, ringing sales, making phone calls. 3 GULF COAST MEDICAL CENTER (13681 Doctors Way, Fort Myers, FL 33912) SINCE NOT ALL DEPARTMENTS HAVE VOLUNTEER OPENINGS DURING EVERY SHIFT (for example, Neurology may only have an openings on and from 8-12 and most departments do not accept weekend volunteers), we ask that you select three (3) preferred areas, rate on a scale of 1 to 3 with 1 being the most preferred. We will do our best to assign you to one of your preferred areas, but it is not guaranteed. Service Area: (Patient= patient contact, Non-Patient=No hands-on patient contact. NW = No end openings Admissions - NW (patient) - Greet visitors, check-in patients and escort to different departments. Clerical Support - NW (non-patient) - Assist in various departments with answering phones, greeting customers, filing and coping. Cardiovascular Services - NW (patient) - Answer phones, run errands, stock supplies and transport patients. Customer Service - Information Desks (non-patient) - Greet and escort patient and visitors, look up patient information (minimal computer work), give directions, and other duties as assigned. Endoscopy - NW (patient) - Assist staff with making up charts, bring patients and visitors back to department from waiting, area and discharge patients via wheelchair. Food & Nutrition Service - (non-patient) - Assist in cafeteria, cleaning tables, wiping trays and restocking supplies. Guest Services - NW (patient) - Check in on patients, deliver get well cards, and some clerical work. Heart Central (patient) - Assist staff by going to patient rooms, changing batteries in telemetry equipment, changing monitor strips, and running errands as needed. Materials Management - NW (non-patient) deliver supplies and/or equipment to various departments throughout the hospital. Medical Floor Service (Cardiac, General Medicine, General Surgery, Neurology) (patient) Deliver water and linens, answer call Lights and assist with other duties as requested. Patient Transporter (patient) - Taking patients and visitors to rooms, via wheelchair on admission, discharge patients and personal belongings, via wheelchair throughout hospital. Surgery Services - NW (patient) - Assist patients after surgery, gather belongings, and help discharge by wheelchair to main entrance. Waiting Room Information Desks - NW (CDU, Surgical Waiting, Cardiac Waiting) (patient) - Greet visitors, checking with staff about Patient s condition, visitation, keep family updated and informed about procedures etc. Other duties as assigned.
