1 CURRILUCULUM VITAE PROFILE Charity Njambi Ndwiga Po Box Code Nairobi (Office) Mobile A Bachelor Degree/Registered Nurse Midwife by profession, Charity is a winner of 1997 prestigious Nurse of the Year award. Her entire working life has focuses on continuous improvement of health profession through training and updating for quality of care. Her expertise ranges from development and review of strategies, policies and guidelines, performance improvement initiatives, curriculum development, facilitative of training, development of training material and manuals, proposal development, planning and resource mobilization. She was key member of the team that revitalized the Community Midwifery Model that is considered a good practice by medical professionals in improving access to skilled care at birth. She coordinated for DRH the FANC/MIP/TB implementation that saw successful integration of these components at the level of service delivery. She formulated the proposal on global funds for focused antenatal care component and initiated the preceptors program for the University of Nairobi that modeled thousands of nurses in family planning practice. She, together with others worked on the Safe Motherhood Demonstration Project in Western Kenya where lessons from the project are being used nationally to inform implementation of Safe Mother Hood activities as well as the Life saving skills training in North Eastern Kenya. She was one the officers charged with responsibility of developing maternal standards for quality of care that guide the inception of accreditation of Out Based Voucher program in Kenya. She also was the national program coordinator of Reproductive Cancers prevention and management implementation activities. Her current work involves coordination of project partners, interventions development and implementation, providing technical support to MOH and partners in development of policies, standard guidelines and protocols and training materials in RH and HIV. Charity is currently working as project officer in three maternal Neonatal Health ongoing projects at population council, Kenya office.
