2 Select Professional Experience Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), St. Paul, MN 1/2008 5/2011 Division of Infectious Disease, Epidemiology, Prevention and Control Planner, Pandemic Influenza Led the ongoing development, revision, and implementation of the Department of Health pandemic influenza plan. Other responsibilities included: - Acting as liaison to cross-cutting work groups involving a variety of other programs and agencies - Acting as the Department s technical advisor on pandemic influenza exercises - Providing expertise to other state agencies and local public health as requested for their own pandemic influenza planning - Led program planning response during the pandemic and assisted in other public health responses as needed Office of Emergency Preparedness H1N1 Planning Team I was responsible for communicating information with key partners and agency staff surrounding the planning process for Minnesota s novel H1N1 influenza response. Example tasks include: - Coordinating weekly Incident Command meetings, acting alongside the project manager to finalize preparations for the fall response - Convening and planning Minnesota s H1N1 Summit, a kick-off event to update the state on planning progress - Developing guidance for local public health, emergency managers, hospitals, tribal governments and local organizations regarding plan development, documentation and record organization, and other technical response areas Division of Health Policy Health Economics Program Staff In this role, I assisted in the implementation of a comprehensive health care reform package to make significant progress toward achieving quality, affordable, accessible health care for all Minnesotans. - Helped to implement the base structure of Minnesota s 2008 health reform laws - Developed, distributed and organized a related Request for Proposals (RFP) process and structured health reform s lead work group (the Health Care Reform Review Council) - Worked continuously with stakeholders, media and publics to communicate regarding the implementation of health reform through the Department s website Executive Office Legislative Coordinator (legislative sessions) I coordinated budgets and policy bills while working extensively with all divisions in the Department.
