1 October 2011 We are a National NHS Charity Network and would like to identify which trusts we can benefit the most with the following information: 1. How many temporary staff does the organisation currently have (for equivalent banding of 6 to 9)? This is only for non-clinical temporary staff including interim managers, project managers, directors etc. Number of Fixed Term Band 6-9 WTE 1. Non-Clinical Temporary Band In this connection we have not made a distinction between Temporary and Fixed Term contracts as in our view these are the same. 2. How many fixed term contract (non-permanent employees) people does the organisation have for banding 6-9? Number of Fixed Term Band 6-9 WTE 2. Fixed Term Contracts Band In this connection we have not made a distinction between Temporary and Fixed Term contracts as in our view these are the same. 3. What (if any) projects each budget holder has within their work plans for the next 6 months? We may hold the information requested, but it is not held on a central database. Therefore, to locate, retrieve and extract the information would involve going through each record. We have estimated that it would take more than 18 hours to manually check these records and that the associated cost would therefore exceed the appropriate fee limit of 450 set out under Freedom of & Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations The fee limit specified in regulations for NHS trusts represents the cost of one person spending 2½ working days at a rate of 25 per hour determining whether the Trust holds the information sought and then locating, retrieving and extracting that information. Having regard to section 12 of the Freedom of Act in circumstances where the fee limit is likely to be exceeded the Trust is not obliged to respond to the request. Accordingly, we are sorry but on this occasion we will not be processing this part of your request further.
