1 31 August 2014 The aim of this generic risk assessment is to provide general information on the type of hazards employees, pupils and others who attend the activities could be exposed to. This document covers all Derby City School Sport Partnership events during the academic year. The document outlines the responsibilities of the School Sport Partnership and those of schools taking part in activities. Schools should ensure that they understand expectations placed upon them by this document before attending any event. The checklist in Appendix 1 will be completed by a member of School Sport Partnership staff prior to the start of any event. Completed checklists will be kept on file following the event. Events organised by Derby City School Sport Partnership are covered by the Public Liability Insurance of Derby County Community Trust, employers of the School Sport Partnership staff. Insurance documents are available upon request. The list given is by no means an exhaustive one. Hazards observed that are not listed but are specific to the work areas/methods should be recorded on the assessment form, Appendix 1. Any accidents or incidents will be recorded on the form in Appendix 2. Copies of these forms will be kept on file by the SSP and shared with appropriate parties. This document will be reviewed in August unless significant change or a significant accident and/ or injury occurs. At least one supervising adult will have an appropriate level of first aid training SCHOOLS 4

Parental consent for administration of medicines is obtained and suitably recorded arrangements made to meet those needs. - SCHOOLS Only appropriately maintained and checked equipment will be used - SSP SSP will only engage providers with the relevant national governing body/ sports association qualifications for the activity being provided SSP 5
