3 InterRAI RAI = Resident Assessment Instrument Developed in the USA in the eighties for use in nursing homes: Objectives: Qualitative care planning, measuring care needs Monitoring of quality of care Then extended to other settings or patient groups (home care, hospital mental health, ) This has evolved into the InterRAI-suite of tools and instruments These have been scientifically validated by professionals worldwide 3
