3 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) LPN s are licensed by the Ohi Bard f Nursing after cmpletin f an 18 mnth accredited LPN prgram and d nt hld a cllege degree in nursing. Can perfrm CPR and First Aid if trained. Can administer prescriptin medicatins if designated by the Bard f Educatin and directed by an RN. Can cllect and reprt subjective and bjective data. Can cllect and recrd data that cntributes t an individual health plan f care created by an RN. Can delegate nursing care if directed by an RN. The LPN is NOT an independent practitiner and must be supervised by an RN r Physician. Emplyer must prvide training abut wrking in a schl setting and prviding health care services fr schl age children. Cmmunity/Schl Nursing is nt a standard f LPN educatin. Des nt receive Epidemilgical educatin t recgnize schl ppulatin patterns f symptms, implicatins r develp a plan f interventin. Any nursing task perfrmed, must be directed by an RN, including medicatin administratin. 4 Unlicensed Assistive Persnnel There is n standard jb descriptin, training r title. The jb descriptin, training and title may be defined by the district. Peple wh fill this psitin may include: Cmmn Jb Titles STNA (State Tested Nurse Assistant) Medical Assistant UAP - Unlicensed Assistive Persnnel Health Aide Instructinal Assistant Paraprfessinal Other (as defined by district) Any unlicensed persn wh is hired t prvide schl health care services. Training Individuals are certified t wrk in lng term care facilities, hspitals, dctr s ffices, clinics and hmes as a nursing assistant hurs f training including medical terminlgy, First Aid, CPR, Baths, Bed making, assisting with ral feedings Vital signs (BP, Temp, Pulse), assist dressing, grming, tileting, ambulating, transfers frm bed t chair, t tilet and back. N training r credentialing recgnized by the Ohi Bard f Nursing. N mandatry health care training required, unless, N mandatry, standardized health care training required, unless N mandatry, standardized health care training required, unless N mandatry, standardized health care training required, unless N mandatry, standardized health care training required, unless N mandatry, standardized health care training required, unless *In sme districts, an RN r LPN is hired fr an unlicensed emplyment psitin.
