Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Midwifery, High Dependency and Chemotherapy qualifications highly desirable. 6 Role Responsibilities As per RN/ RM PD Participate in the delivery of family centred care within a safe environment Ensure provision of care is within guidelines of the current policies and procedures of Mercy Health and Mercy Hospital for Women As the Registered Nurse/ Midwife you will provide: - Ongoing patient assessment - Ongoing patient monitoring and consultation - Involve patient and family in care planning and goal setting - Explanations of services provided by Mercy Hospital for Women - Arrange appropriate schedules for patient care - Ensure appropriate referrals to other members of the interdisciplinary team as necessary - Education to the mother and family members Accountable for your own nursing/ midwifery practice within the guidelines as established by AHPRA Maintain patient records in accordance with Hospital / Department standards Maintain responsibility for the delivery of high quality, holistic care to the patient Participate in Quality Activities under the guidance of senior RNs/ RMs Ensure mandatory and clinical competencies appropriate for your area of work are completed within designated timeframes Use the Pay Global Biometrics system to scan on and off each shift Be available for at least 2 shifts per month and be available for up to 2 hours after the commencement of a nominated shift You are required to work shifts on a consistent basis have no break of work greater than a 4 month period Ensure that each shift worked is noted by the Nurse-in-Charge of the relevant unit Key Result Areas Standard Measures Key Activities Ensure the provision and implementation of quality clinical care Organisation successfully accredited by ACHS Ensure effective lines of communication are maintained Well informed staff working in a harmonious environment Evidence of a culture with open and transparent communication Ensure the provision of customer focussed care Minimal customer complaints women and family centred care Minimum timeframe to resolve complaints Ensures responsibility of own professional development Clinical and theoretical knowledge is up to date Professional representation of the ward/unit Contributes to midwifery clinical practice research and the Improved care for the woman application of findings Enhanced professional development of the nurse Progressive and up to date care in all areas of nursing Contributes to a collaborative approach to change Participates forward planning as part of the strategic management & application direction of MHW.
