I enjoy working through each patient's issues, researching problems and appropriate treatments and working with the nurses to ensure a good outcome. High patient census which comes with covering multiple services at night. Also, the challenge comes when I have multiple admissions at the same time as an in-patient emergency, or when I have to treat more then one patient emergency at the same time. Perseverance o Cell: o Pager: o Mary.a.grove@vanderbilt.edu
6 Jason Jean, FNP, BC 13 total years Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Vanderbilt University o 2006 Present: Cardiology Nurse Practitioner, Vanderbilt University Currently, my work location is in Franklin, TN Williamson Medical Center; Function as a satellite Vanderbilt Heart Nurse Practitioner o : Cardiology Nurse Practitioner - St.Thomas Hospital, Page Campbell Cardiology o : Family Nurse Practitioner Vine Hill Community Clinic, Vanderbilt University o : Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse Practitioner, Vanderbilt University o : Registered Nurse & Charge Nurse 9North and the SICU, Vanderbilt University o : Nurse Extern, Vanderbilt University My favorite function is being able to see patient s across the continuum of care. Seeing patients in the clinic and in the hospital is very rewarding for me. I feel that I can utilize my skills as a Family Nurse Practitioner to educate and help prevent cardiovascular disease burdens. My experience as a critical care nurse has prepared me well for the acute and complex disease patterns that I encounter. Creating leverage for economic opportunities for current and future Nurse Practitioners is difficult, but must be forthcoming in order to advance the Nurse Practitioner role. Historically, Nurse Practitioners have been utilized in more clinical formats. However, the pendulum is swinging to incorporate Nurse Practitioners in an increasing procedural world. The continued struggle to prove one s self worth and competence is an enormous challenge and needs to be addressed on a continual basis. I am a calm natured person. I seek to understand the whole package instead of just one particular problem. I am driven in a way that seeks to find a customer driven process. One in which the patient takes charge their healthcare. I believe in self sufficiency. However, the self must be coached in a way that is meaningful and productive. o E:Mail: Jason.Jean@vanderbilt.edu o Cell:
