(Nursing) (a) The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will st complete this age on 31 December of the year of admission. b) The candidate should have completed the two years intermediate/ H.Sc or equivalent course thereof, with science subjects, viz. English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized Indian University or Pre- University. c) The candidate should have secured not less than 60% of marks on the aggregate of the above subjects in the qualifying or competitive examination conducted on similar lines as the qualifying examination conducted by a competitive body. d) The candidate should be medically fit. Nursing Four years of study Application for the Entrance Examination: The admission for Undergraduate degree courses is based on Merit depending on the performance of the candidate in the Entrance Examination. The All India Entrance Examination will be held on The Application for the UG Entrance Examination for the year will be issued from onwards. 2 Filling the application form 1. The application form should be filled in block letters in the candidate's own handwriting using blue/black ball pen. 2. Affix a recent passport size photograph in the spaces provided in the application form. 3. The application form must be filled up in all respects. Incompletely filled application forms will be summarily rejected. 4. Venue of the Examination: The examination will be conducted in the following centres: CHENNAI - COIMBATORE - HYDERABAD - NEW DELHI * The centers may be relocated depending upon the number of applicants. Issue of Hall Tickets: 1. Hall tickets will be sent only to the eligible candidates. 2. Admission to the entrance examination does not confer on the candidate the right of admission to the course. 3. Candidates who do not receive the Hall ticket until two working days before the entrance examination may contact 'Office of Admission', Saveetha University and obtain a duplicate hall ticket by producing evidence of having applied for the entrance examination. 4. Alternatively the candidate should bring an identity card / Photograph (same as the one affixed on the application form) duly attested, to the examination hall and obtain clarification from the Examination Superintendent. 5. The Entrance Examination will be held on Candidates should bring the hall ticket issued by Office of Admission, Saveetha University, to appear in the entrance examination. 3. 3 Counseling Schedule: The counseling for Nursing Undergraduate students will be held in the Month of June at Saveetha College of Nursing, Saveetha Nagar, Thandalam, Chennai The admission will be done purely on merit, based on the performance in the Entrance examination. Seat allotment will be done based on the rank list subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria. The call letter for counseling will be sent to the selected candidates. The candidate should be present for the counseling at appointed date and time without fail. It is mandatory that the candidate brings the prescribed tuition fee to appear in the counseling. In case of candidates securing equal marks in the entrance examination, the candidate with higher score in the higher secondary examination will be given preference. Candidates who are not present for counseling on the specified date and time do not have any rights to claim any seat. The Candidate should be present for the counseling accompanied by a parent / guardian. The following original documents with three sets of photocopies should be brought at the time of counseling and should be submitted if admitted to the course. A. Mark list of H.Sc / 10+2 or its equivalent. B. Entrance Examination hall ticket. C. Conduct Certificate from the institution last studied. D. Transfer Certificate from the institution last studied. The fees once paid will not be refunded. In case the candidate wants to discontinue/withdraw after the commencement of the course, he/she has to pay the entire course fee before discontinuing from the course. 5 Eligibility: Post Basic BSc Nursing A candidate for admission to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course should have passed General Nursing and Midwifery after 10, +2 or equivalent examination with science subjects. The candidate should be a registered nurse and midwife or equivalent with any state nursing registration council. A male nurse trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses registration council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas - OT Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopaedic Nursing. Candidates should be medically fit. Course Duration: 2 Years Issue of Application: The Application and Prospectus for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing will be issued from the University office from onwards. 8 M. Sc. Nursing Eligibility: A candidate for admission to the M.Sc. Degree in Nursing must possess a Degree of B.Sc. Nursing from a College / University duly recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with minimum 55% aggregate marks and should have one year of experience, after graduation. The candidate should be medically fit. In case of Male Candidates, they should have passed any other course recommended by the Indian Nursing Council in place of Midwifery. These male candidates are not eligible for admission to Branch III and Branch IV irrespective of their experience in these areas. Male candidates who have passed and registered in Midwifery is eligible for admission to branch V irrespective of their experience in these area.
