2 OBJECTIVES 1) Describe the structure of a PMHNP Residency in Integrated Care. 2) Evaluate data associated with the first year of a PMHNP Residency in Integrated Care. 3) Recognize the value of a PMHNP Residency in Integrated Care in relation to advanced practice psychiatric nursing. Goals of first NP Residency Program Development of NP Residency Programs Current programs available Numbers Foci (FNP, PMHNP, etc.) Support from Healthcare Policy Leaders IOM/ Future of Nursing State boards of nursing, accrediting bodies, the federal government, and health care organizations should take actions to support nurses completion of a transition to practice program (nurse residency) after they have completed a prelicensure or advanced practice degree program or when they are transitioning into new clinical practice areas.
