Sufficient education to ensure the continuing competence of CNAs; must be no less than 12 hours per year 2. Include dementia management and abuse prevention training 3. Address areas of weakness as determined in CNAs performance reviews and facility assessment (483.70)(e) Might include special needs of residents as determined by the facility 4. Include education for providing care and services of the cognitively impaired (if appropriate for your facility) 7
