11 RMT A Graduate of a minimum 2200-hour program in Massage Therapy, encompassing the minimum Standard of Education as established by the Canadian Massage Therapist Alliance, from a University / College / School regulated or licensed by the respective educational authority of the Province / Territory of the institution Or: Has completed the Bridging Program through a recognized school to ensure the applicants qualifications are substantially equivalent to the aforementioned 2200-hour minimum standard
12 Holistic Practitioner Certified by an accredited Teacher/ School/ Program for the supported modality Practicing in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick Able to qualify for Liability/Malpractice Insurance under their modality. Holistic Practitioners are independent of Massage Therapy and should not be considered to include Massage Therapy in their scope of practice.

14 Annual General Meeting We hold our annual meeting for all our members once a year. This is a time when we: Elect Board members Discuss events within our industry Network with each other Hear feedback from our members Discuss what paths we d like to explore in the future
15 Code of Ethics Be committed to providing the highest quality care to those seeking their professional service. Give treatment only in those modalities where they are qualified and which honestly represents their training, education, certification and other qualifications. Continuously strive for professional improvement and advancement by continued education and training. Actively support their profession through local organizations, volunteer work or public education. Abide by federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations, as they pertain to their profession, and rules and bylaws of any health care organization or facility to which they belong. Respect the confidentially of each of their clients. Not give out information concerning a client unless written consent is obtained from the client. Obtain adequate and appropriate medical information concerning a client prior to treatment. Conduct their business and professional activities with honesty, integrity and recognized ethics of their profession. Not conduct themselves in a manner which would be inappropriate or harmful to the client, or jeopardize the professional ethics and conduct of their chosen profession. (e.g. not engaging in any sexual conduct involving their clients, silence instead of verbal support, etc.,) Not unjustly discriminate against clients or colleagues. Not offer to guarantee a cure or misrepresent the therapeutic value of any health care therapy. Refer a client to another qualified member of the health care profession when a condition requires further treatment or examination. Keep records of their clients and shall not falsify any part of a client s record, or sign or issue a report or document containing false or misleading statements.
