4 DESCRIPTIONS OF WORKSHOPS 1 DAY and ½ TRAINING SESSIONS Wednesday and Thursday morning New Administrators Training Best Practices in Delivery ODSP Mississauga First This workshop is for new administrators and caseworkers Nation (Ministry staff are requested not to attend) that will focus on how to properly take an application, Full on interactive course that takes you thru how client verification, case file standards and an overview of we do our ODSP applications. Ontario Works policies. Ministry staff are asked not to attend. 1 DAY TRAINING SESSIONS - Wednesday Feedback - It s Not What We Say It s How We Say It! We spend a good deal of our waking hours interacting with people in our families, on our teams, in our workplaces and in our communities. When it comes to human interaction, things don t always go as planned which is why the healthiest of relationships pay attention to the tools and strategies that assist us with having those challenging conversations. Homemakers Update your understanding of the Administration of the Homemakers Program, review forms, reporting and gain an understanding of the delivery Understanding the different responses to conflict, communications styles, the power of acknowledging others and the role of true accountability as well as some sample openers for providing feedback are some of the concepts this session will explore. Trauma Informed Care (Mandatory 7 hours please be advised that we can only take 30 participants sign up early) Intergenerational trauma as well as direct, indirect and vicarious experiences of trauma have impacted the health and well-being of Aboriginal peoples. Understanding the complexity of how trauma affects emotional responses, triggers, perceptions and beliefs is foundational to a trauma-informed approach. A trauma informed approach aims to create physical, mental, spiritual and emotional safety in order to support healing and well-being. ½ DAY TRAINING SESSIONS Wednesday Morning Why we have First Nations in Canada? Ministry Staff are encouraged to attend. First Nations in Canada have a definitive (absolute) and ubiquitous (ever present) relationship with both provincial and federal governments, Outcome Measures Effectively work within and forecast your targets for Ontario Works using the contract excel template. Chief and Council Presentation The Chief and Council presentation will highlight the roles and responsibilities of Chief and Council and Ontario Works staff regarding the delivery and administration of Ontario Works while adhering to the Ontario Works Act, Directives, and Privacy Funerals and Burials, Employment Experience INAC will present how to complete Non-SARS funeral application to INAC and the process. They will also cover the requirements and reporting for the Employment Experience Program.

They will also cover the requirements and reporting for the Employment Experience Program. Relaxation Techniques Learn breathing techniques, meditation techniques, chair yoga stretching and guided relaxation. Find your harmony from within. Policy Updates and AOB Form Completion The first section of this workshop will focus on recent changes in legislation that effect delivery of service. The second portion of this workshop will focus on how to complete the Assignments of Benefits forms (1 Hour).
