3 The mission of Hôpital Montfort The meaning of keywords in our mission statement Hôpital Montfort is a Francophone institution that delivers quality care in both official languages, within an academic setting and works with its partners to improve communities health. Francophone Institution. As a key institution of the Franco-Ontarian community, Montfort has an obligation established through the Montfort court decision to maintain the French language, to transmit the French culture and promote the solidarity of the Franco-Ontarian to prevent any form of assimilation. Academic setting. A hospital with a teaching role at the college, as well as the university level, and research field. Quality care. Care is provided in accordance with recognized quality and safety standards. Both official languages. Services are offered in French and in English. However, this does not exclude recourse to other languages where possible. Partners and improving health. Working with our partners in the health system to provide a continuum of care to improve health status and quality of life for our patients and their relatives. Communities. This includes both the Francophone community in the Champlain region as well as communities defined by geographic, cultural, multicultural or specific populations. This may also include the Francophone community in Ontario. 2 Strategic Plan
