2 Dear Critical Care Nurse, Focus and the New York State Nurses Association are pleased to present the 11th annual Focus on Adult Critical Care Nursing Conference at the Grand Hotel and Conference Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on Thursday, October 19th, This conference has two main goals. The first is to present a strong academic program of eight pertinent critical care topics to the region s critical care nurses who work with adult patients. The second is to present those lectures in the context of a relaxing day away from the pressures of work and family. In addition, then, to an excellent academic program, attendees will enjoy a day conducive to networking, seeing old friends, visiting exhibit booths, winning door prizes and enjoying a wonderful luncheon during Fall foliage season in the Hudson Valley of New York. This conference is the fruition of a vision by my own late wife, Maria, who was a critical care RN, herself. Maria had always felt that there were not enough regional vehicles for continuing education of critical care nurses, thus this conference. This year, we are most fortunate to have with us, four excellent speakers: Leanna Miller, Kelsey Halbert, Robyn Woidtke, and Carol Lynn Esposito. We wish to thank the New York State Nurses Association for their co-sponsorship and support pertaining to the production and promotion of this conference and we hope you will join us. You ll have a wonderful day and you ll bring back practical information that will benefit yourself, your colleagues and, of course, your patients. Warm Regards, Robert Miglino RRT MPS - Conference Chairman PROGRAM COMMITTEE Robert Miglino RRT, MPS - Conference Chairman Leanna Miller DNP, RN, MN, CCRN-CMC, PCCN-CSC, CNRN, NP Kelsey Halbert RN BSN SCRN CNRN Robyn Woidtke RN MSN-Ed RPSGT CCHS Carol Lynn Esposito, Ed.D., JD, MS, RN 2
