2 Evidence-based Practice a problem-solving approach to clinical decision-making within a health care organization that integrates the best available scientific evidence with the best available experiential (patient and practitioner) evidence, considers internal and external influences on practice, and encourages critical thinking in the judicious application of such evidence to care of the individual patient, patient population, or system. 3 JMH Evidence-based Practice & Innovation Council Cross-campus Shared-Governance Council Foster a culture that encourages and supports nurse-led studies and the application of research and EBP findings. Promote and support an EBP fellows program and Research Symposium Use the annual Research Symposium to provide a forum for the translation of research and EBP findings to clinical practice. Promote research and EBP opportunities through clinical inquiry aimed at improving practice performance and/or patient outcomes. Foster collaboration and mentorship for nursing research utilization and/or EBP project implementation. Increase capacity for nursing research. Encourage Council membership.
