1 EAS Repository Data Dictionary Report Class 18 [Ancillary CPT Workload] Fiscal Year The fiscal year associated with the data reported. The fiscal year represents a period in time beginning with 01 October through 30 September. Dimension char Parent DMIS ID Defense Medical Information System ID (DMIS ID) for a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) or Dental Treatment Facility (DTF) responsible for Medical Expense Performance and Reporting System (MEPRS) reporting for itself and its child facilities. Dimension char 4 Refer to EAS Repository Data Noted as an optional field in the MHS DMIS ID Table (See for more information). Fiscal Month Fiscal Month that corresponds to a specific calendar month in MM format, the first of which is October. Dimension char 2 01=October 02=November 03=December 04=January 05=February 06=March 07=April 08=May 09=June 10=July 11=August 12=September Providing DMIS ID The Defense Medical Information System Identifier (DMIS ID) of the facility who provides services to another facility. 2 Providing 4th Level Functional Cost The Functional Cost Code account used to identify the Medical Treatment Facility's (MTF) or Dental Treatment Facility's (DTF) work centers that provide services to other work centers such as ancillary services providing services to inpatient work centers. Dimension char 4 Refer to EAS Repository Data Beneficiary Category Code The broadest category of the beneficiary. A single digit number (or "N" for not applicable) that identifies a group of patients, such as Acitve Duty, Retired, etc. Dimension char 1 = ACTE DUTY 2 = FAM MBR OF ACTE DUTY 3 = RETIRED 4 = FAM MBR OF RETIRED 5 = OTHER 9 = NOT REPORTED N = NOT APPLICABLE The classification schema is different from that used in the M2. Beneficiary Category Description Identifies the type of beneficiary based on the Beneficiary Category Code assigned. A beneficiary is a person who is eligible for TRICARE benefits. Beneficiaries include active duty service members, active duty family members (ADFMs), retired service members, and their families. Family members include spouses and unmarried natural or stepchildren up to the age of 21 (or 23 if full-time students at accredited institutions of learning). Workload interfaces- and ADM Dimension char 50 Refer to above values CPT Code The Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code as defined by the American Medical Association (AMA). CPT codes are used to describe medical procedures. Dimension char 5 Medical, Lab, and Radiology CPTs included if the work was performed at the clinics. Page 2 of 5

3 CPT Modifier The modifier used in conjunction with the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code describes extenuating circumstances under which the procedure is conducted to include the side of the body examined or other providers in attendance. Dimension char 2 CPT Modifiers for Lab 00= Technical component for inhouse lab 26= Professional component 32= Technical component for inhouse lab from another source MTF 90= External lab, MTF prepares specimen for processing at another facility CPT Modifiers for Radiology 00= Professional + Technical component 26= Professional component 32= Technical component 50= Bilateral procedure, Professional component only 51= Bilateral procedure, Technical component only 99= Bilateral and portable CPT Code Type Indicates the module from which the code originated. Dimension char 1 A=Ambulatory L=Laboratory M=Medical R=Radiology Any CPT code reported on a Standard Ambulatory Data Record to include any Lab or Radiology procedures performed in the work center. CPT AMA Short Name The American Medical Association (AMA) short name for the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code. Dimension char 50 Refer to EAS Repository Data CPT DoD Name The Health Affairs name given to a Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code. Dimension char 100 Refer to EAS Repository Data Page 3 of 5

4 CPT Weight The Relative Value Unit (RVU) of a Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code as defined by Health Affairs. Dimension decimal 8,2 Refer to EAS Repository Data Due to timing, for any given fiscal year, the Relative Value Units are from the prior calendar year. Example: The FY08 CPT table uses RVUs from the CY07 MHS CPT Code table. Raw Statistical Amount The number of procedures performed. Measure decimal 10,2 Weighted Statistical Amount The number of procedures for a specific CPT code multiplied times its Relative Value Units (CPT Weight). *See note for this object in Class 19 Measure decimal 10,2 Cost Per Weighted Unit Total procedure cost divided by weighted statistical amount. Measure decimal 10,4 To display correct Cost per Weighted Unit data you must pull Fiscal Year, Parent DMIS ID, Fiscal Month, and Providing 4th Level FCC. Total Procedure Cost Total procedure cost for a given month, fiscal year, and procedure code. Measure money 16,4 The Total Procedure Cost is the Cost per Weighted Unit multiplied by Weighted Statistical Amount, which yields the cost of all specific CPTs performed, NOT the cost per individual procedure. 5 Caveats and Notes Caveats Must include objects Fiscal Year, Parent DMIS ID, Fiscal Month, and Providing 4th Level Functional Cost Code to ensure Cost per Weighted Unit is valid and correct. Select one of the three CPT modifiers, or weighted workload will be doubled. Notes Costs include ONLY direct expenses plus Support expenses. Stepdown costs from Ancillary are NOT included. Lab and Rad Ancillary Workload only. Principal Class compatible with Classes 01, 03, 04, & 11. Refer to the EAS Compatibility Matrix for guidance. Page 5 of 5
