Terry has supported more than 15 businesses through the permitting process since April Areas of expertise include: Concept, planning, engineering, permitting, bidding and construction of large-scale building and infrastructure projects.

26 A Look Ahead 11: Understanding Solar and Wind Energy, Ag Ed Center Presenters will speak about the mechanics involved with solar and wind electrical generation, taxes, incentives, and best management practices for installing wind and solar installations. The presentation will incorporate electrical production and financial data collected by Hagerstown College students from solar and wind installations in western Maryland. 13: Allegiant Dodge High Fares Dodgeball Tournament, HGR DUCK, DIVE and DODGE high fares for a good cause. Have a fun rivalry between departments in your office? Now s the time to settle the score! Reserve your team s spot today and register for the Dodge High Fares Dodgeball Tournament at dodgehighfares.com. Entry fees are $100 per team and proceeds benefit local non-profits including: Hagerstown Aviation Museum, Children in Need, REACH, Inc. July 20 27: Ag Expo, Sharpsburg, Md. Enjoy a week full of family fun at the Washington County Ag Expo and Fair, featuring a carnival, musical entertainment, bull riding, horse pull, truck and tractor pull, demolition derby, animal exhibits, and much more. Kids age 2 and under get in free! 21: Iron Chef, Ag Expo & Fair A fun and friendly event that showcases local agricultural products and local talent. Each team will be asked to prepare one appetizer (3 servings), one main dish including a vegetable (3 servings) and one dessert (3 servings) for three mystery judges. One hour and 30 minutes is allowed for the grilling and preparation of the three entries. 25: Governors Buy Local Cookout, Government House, Annapolis, Md. This cookout promotes the statewide Buy Local Challenge Week (July 20-28), during which all Marylanders are encouraged to eat at least one local product each day of the week. Chefs are encouraged to submit creative recipes that showcase ways the average Maryland family can prepare delicious nutritious meals with local produce.

27 A Look Ahead August September October 4: 4 th Annual Fort Ritchie Triathlon Ready, set, GO! Join other competitors for this two distance triathlon set to start and end at Fort Ritchie in Cascade, Md, just 20 minutes from Hagerstown. An old military base, Fort Ritchie is being converted to a premier private residential community. and the property is a beautiful venue for multisport racing 14 17: Maryland Association of Counties Summer Conference Nearly 20 continuing education sessions will be offered at the conference, featuring more than 80 speakers from the public and private sectors. The conference also hosts state agency briefings, organization meetings, and regional county meetings as well as Maryland Association of Counties committee meetings. An exhibit booth trade show, featuring over 250 of the best of commercial, state, and county services and products is held in two grand exhibit halls, across the foyer from one another. 21: Sunset on the Mountain, Fort Ritchie, Md. Celebrate an exquisite evening of history and the culture of Fort Ritchie through the arts. The event features fine cuisine, open bar, history displays, and artisan demonstrations, and will culminate in an art auction. Proceeds from the event benefit the FRCC Lakeside Hall. 25: Pitch Across Maryland When the STARTUP Maryland bus rolls into town you should get on it! Entrepreneurs hop on the bus and deliver a 3-minute pitch around their product or idea. Videos are uploaded to YouTube and then open to public viewing/voting. This aspect of the competition allows the entrepreneurs, sponsors and tour hosts to activate social networks for even broader awareness and celebration. Entrepreneurs are provided coaching, guidance and support from business mentors and other active angel/vc investors. 30 4: Economic Development Week Throughout Maryland, counties celebrate this week by organizing events and activities ranging from proclamations and informational sessions.
