This session can be attended separately or with Part Two. 8:30 am Noon Wall Bracing 0.3 ICC CEU s Instructor: Sandra Hyde, ICC This advanced course provides the reasons for wall bracing, the variety of methods of bracing that can be used, and how to ensure that the minimum amount of bracing is provided. See next page for agenda. 8:30 am 4:30 pm Energy Update Existing Building Compliance 0.6 CEU s Instructor: Eric Makela This one day course will cover the 2009 IECC and ASH- RAE requirements for existing commercial and residential buildings with the focus on additions, alterations and repairs and a change in occupancy. 10:30 am Break 8:30 am 4:30 pm IRC Significant Changes 0.6 ICC CEU s Instructor: ICC (TBA) This ICC class will review the significant changes from the 2009 IRC to the 2012 version. Instructor David Cram, Materials, Testing & inspection Chapter 18, Soils and Foundations, of the International Building Code requirements will be discussed, along with specific geotechnical inspection and testing procedures, exploration methods, and equipment. Common issues and/or problems will be discussed, along with ways to deal with them. Specific topics will include settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability, shallow foundations, deep foundations, expansive soils, and water issues. Trusses Instructor Shawn Reeder, Performance Engineers This presentation is ideal for professionals seeking an indepth knowledge of truss construction and installation procedures.
