7 MARKET STATISTICS The energy industry is changing the role of utilities is evolving. We are seeing more IPPs, more self generation and more off-grid solutions and not just on a commercial scale. East Africa is forecast to have more than 50,000MW OF GENERATION POTENTIAL by An offgrid revolution of sorts is afoot, with East Africa at the forefront.
