With the dedication the sponsoring agency wishes to make it an iconic Polytechnic of the region. The main principles which guide the concept layout plan for Polytechnic are as follows: To Create of ample opportunities for Departments of the Polytechnic and other skill development units by providing an independent core of excellence within the Polytechnic. Creation of facilities to attract students and faculty. The intent is to consolidate efforts for globally competitive Diploma level technical Programs, product development that would be reflected through publication, patents, innovative academic and research programs. 7 Page7 1.3 Location & Headquarter of proposed JIS Polytechnic, Jhalda The Polytechnic would be set up at Plot No. 868, JL No. 126, Mouza Kutidih, Block Jhalda 1, P.S. Jhalda, District- Purulia, West Bengal, India. 1.4 Land & Infrastructure The Polytechnic would be set up on a land measuring 03.2 Hectares. It is envisaged that during the first 3 years, the Polytechnic would build appropriate operating space for it. 1.5 Benefits envisaged for the region and West Bengal Infrastructure Development: One of the best Infrastructure development that would match or excel the best Polytechnics in India The Polytechnic will be set with best infrastructure possible and aimed to be an icon in West Bengal. The Polytechnic will also invite Industry to set up Research and Business Development centre for a mutual and sustainable benefit of the region and the State. The infrastructure such created will be enormous and attract a huge mass of students from the District and neighboring Districts as well as other parts of India. Employment Generation : Direct and Indirect employment generation The Polytechnic will be a paramount importance of creating employment generation for the region. When the Polytechnic will be fully operational, it will yield more than 1000 employable professional every year. It is estimated to create a large number of talented human resources.
