1 Region 9 Leadership Conference Alpharetta High School, Alpharetta Wednesday, January 20, 2016 The 2016 Georgia FBLA Region 9 Leadership Conference is shaping up to be an exciting event for FBLA members and advisers. The conference will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta. Please read this packet carefully as it contains very important information. Registration Information The registration for this conference will be $20.00 per member attending or competing. There is no longer an additional charge for students who compete in a second event. The online deadline for all registration materials is Tuesday, November 17, Because of the extended deadline there will be no late registration period. Please retain a copy of the registration materials for your files. Please make all checks payable to Georgia FBLA. All checks and copies of registration forms should be sent so that they are RECEIVED by December 4 to: Georgia FBLA 3316-A South Cobb Drive, Suite #229 Smyrna, GA Please note that all checks should be made payable to GEORGIA FBLA and forwarded with your registration form. High School Competitive Event Entries for 3-D Animation, Business Ethics, Business Financial Plan, Business Plan,, Digital Video Production, Electronic Career Portfolio (if a website), Graphic Design, Public Service Announcement, Publication Design, Social Media Campaign, and Website Design should be submitted online by November 17 using the links on the LiveBinder (do not submit with the online conference registration system). Competitive event entries for Electronic Career Portfolio (if not a website) and Job Interview should be postmarked no later than November 17 and must be RECEIVED no later than November 20. Middle Level Competitive Event Entries for Creed, Employability Skills, Invention Convention, Public Speaking must be submitted online by November 17. Cars may park in any of the parking lots Dinner Provided Dinner is included in the registration fee. If a member needs a vegetarian meal, please be sure to select the Vegetarian Option in the Additional Events field when registering online. If an adviser or chaperone needs a vegetarian meal, please the name of the adviser/chaperone to conference@georgiafbla.org. If a member will not be attending the conference, you should select the Non-Attending Option in the Additional Events field when registering online to receive a $5 credit. 2 Important Registration Deadlines: Membership Registration Deadline: October 30 Competitive Event Submission Deadline: November 17 Regular Registration Online Deadline: November 17 Late Registration Deadline: December 1 Payment RECEIPT Deadline: December 4 Registration Fees The conference registration fee will be as follows: Regular registration $20.00 Late registration $35.00 Substitution/Change/Cancellation Fee $10.00 Georgia FBLA policy dictates that there must be a paid adviser or chaperone for every ten students or portion thereof. The registration system will remain open through November 17. After November 17, late fees of $35 per person will be assessed. No exceptions!!! Please make sure that you register all members by November 17 to avoid late fees. Members who are unintentionally left off but registered after November 17 will be assessed late fees. There is no onsite registration for this conference. No registration will be accepted after December 1. Late registration policy will be strictly enforced. Please make all checks payable to Georgia FBLA. When mailing your registration materials, please make sure to include the following: Registration Confirmation (printed from the conference registration system, not the confirmation ) School check or money order for registration fees (No personal checks!) MIDDLE LEVEL CHAPTERS: Checks and registration confirmations should be mailed to the Smyrna address so that they are RECEIVED by December 4. However, video entries for Creed, Employability Skills, Invention Convention, and Public Speaking should be uploaded no later than November 17. Middle level chapters are encouraged to attend their own Region Leadership Conference. If your chapter is not attending, make sure to mark each registrant as Non-attendee (in the Additional Events field) to reduce the registration fee by $5. Medals not picked up at RLC will not be mailed. You can pick these up at ML SLC. Required: Online Registration Registration for the 2016 Region Leadership Conference must be done online via our online registration system. Links to this system will be available no later than November 1 from the Georgia FBLA Adviser LiveBinder and website. IMPORTANT: When registering your students for this conference, you will only be allowed to register members who are listed as paid FBLA members in the national membership system. A paid member is defined as one whose dues have been received and processed in the national office. Please note that it could take 1-2 weeks for dues to be processed so please make sure you register and submit payment for anyone attending RLC as soon as possible, but no later than October 30. Membership Registration Deadline The recommended deadline for membership registration to compete at the Region Leadership Conference is October 30. This means that you must have all students in the membership system and send your dues check to the national office for those students NO LATER THAN October 30. You will not be able to register members for RLC until their dues have been received in the national office. Please take care of this before attempting to register them. Note: If you wait until October 30 to mail your check, it is highly recommended that you mail your dues check to Georgia FBLA (3316-A South Cobb Drive, Suite #229, Smyrna, GA 30080). Upon receipt of check, we will pay the dues with our credit card. Please make sure that your competitors grade levels are correct in the membership system as several of our events are restricted to students in certain grade levels. You can make the grade level changes in the system yourself. If you need to make changes to member names, you must make these by ing the national office at custserv@fbla.org PRIOR TO registering for the conference. Please allow a few days for these name changes to be made. Substitutions/Changes Substitutions in delegates will be allowed. No substitutions or changes will be accepted after December 1. However, any substitutions to your original online registration will result in a $10 processing charge for each change made after November 17. Prior to November 17, you may make all changes, additions, and deletions directly in the online system. After November 17, you must use the RLC Late Registration Online Form, the RLC Substitution/Change Online Form, or the RLC Cancellation Form to indicate your registration additions, changes., and cancellations, respectively. There will be a $10 processing charge for each substitution/change/cancellation. You must submit all substitutions or changes from the online registration on the RLC Substitution/Change Online Form and any late registration on the RLC Late Registration Online Form no later than December 1. Both forms will be available on the Georgia FBLA LiveBinder once regular registration has closed. All changes/substitutions and late registration must be requested no later than December 1. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE CHANGES DURING THE ONLINE TESTING PERIOD

3 Refund Policy To cancel a student s registration after November 17 a RLC Registration Cancellation Form must be completed online by December 1. There is a $10 fee for each cancellation. Any overpayment will be held as a credit for your chapter. No refunds/credit vouchers will be granted after December 1. Late Registration and Late Payment Late registration (if not entered online by November 17) fees are $35. No registration will be accepted after December 1. There will be NO ONSITE REGISTRATION. No exceptions!!! Any chapter whose registration is not entered online by November 17 will have to pay the $35 per person late registration fee to attend RLC. If your chapter or your students cannot afford the late fees, please make sure you submit your registration online by the November 17 deadline. Please double check to make sure you included all registered individuals. All registration payments MUST BE RECEIVED IN FULL BY DECEMBER 4. Please note that this is NOT a postmark deadline. Even though registration is online, payment is expected to be postmarked by December 1. If it takes your school a week to issue a check, please make sure you register a week prior to the December 1 deadline so that you allow enough time to get a check. If full payment is not RECEIVED by December 4, a Late Payment Penalty of $25 will be assessed, regardless of the amount still due. If full payment is still not RECEIVED by December 11, the Late Payment Penalty increases to $50, regardless of the amount still due If you have to pay a balance at the conference in January, the Late Payment Penalty increases to $75, regardless of the amount still due If you still owe a balance following the conference, the Late Payment Penalty increases to $100, regardless of the amount still due. Chapters with outstanding balances may not participate in future conferences. Please review the Georgia FBLA Late Fees Payment and Fees Policy for more information. Please note that you must pay for any student registered by November 17, even though payment may not have been sent yet. If the student cancels, you will still be responsible for his/her registration fee if you do not cancel by November 17. Chaperones In accordance with Georgia FBLA policy, there must be one paid adviser or adult chaperone for every ten students or portion thereof. For example, if your chapter is bringing twelve members, the chapter must have two advisers/chaperones. This rule will be strictly enforced. If chapters are sharing an adult chaperone, advisers must complete a Georgia FBLA Chaperone Sharing Form and mail it to with your registration check(s). Payment by Credit Card Registration fees may be paid by credit card. The minimum charge for each transaction is $20. Do not forget to include the 3.5% processing fee with your total. In order to avoid late payment penalties, please make sure that the credit card payment is processed no later than December 4. Adviser Fees Payment by Personal Check Registration for all students must be paid by school check, money order, or credit card. Personal checks are not acceptable for student registration. If advisers need separate receipts for purposes of reimbursement, advisers may pay for their own registration with a personal check or credit card under the following conditions: Only the adviser s individual registration is paid with a personal check; Personal checks are available immediately for cashing; Any personal check returned to Georgia FBLA due stop payment or insufficient funds will result in a $25 fee being assessed and the chapter losing the privilege to submit personal checks for all advisers for future conferences. Non-Attendee Meal Waiver If a competitor will not be attending the RLC, you may request a Non-Attendee Meal Waiver for this individual by selecting the Non-Attendee Option under the Additional Events for each competitor when you register for the conference. Meal waivers are only available to those members who are not attending the conference and must be requested by November 17. These members will not have a nametag. Note: You cannot request a Non-Attendee Waiver for students competing in Business Ethics, Client Service, Emerging Business Issues, Impromptu Speaking, Introduction to Business Presentation, Job Interview, Public Speaking I, Public Speaking II, or Sales Presentation as these events require the competitors to be present at the conference. Performance Times & Event Orientation Performance times for Business Ethics, Client Service, Emerging Business Issues, Impromptu Speaking, Introduction to Business Presentation, Job Interview, Public Speaking I, Public Speaking II, and Sales Presentation will not be announced prior to the conference. All competitors in these events must report to the holding room or competition room (as specified in the conference program) at the specified time for event orientation prior to the start of the event. Estimated performance times will be announced at the event orientation. Competitors who do not attend event orientation will not be allowed to compete. All competitors must arrive at the conference site prior to the start of competitions in order to compete. Cell Phone and Personal Electronics Policy The use of cell phones or other personal electronic devices during is strictly prohibited during competitive events and workshops and session when the presenter does not specifically request that you use your devices.. Cell phones can be very disruptive to a competitor or to a meeting. During all competitive events, workshops, meetings, and sessions, all cell phones must be out of sight and remain either silent or in the off position, unless requested by the presenter.. If a student is caught using a cell phone or personal electronic device during the conference, the cell phone will be taken up and returned at the end of the conference.

4 Region Leadership Conference Awards Program The RLC Awards Program is the highlight of each Region Leadership Conference. Please do not make plans to leave the conference before or during the Award Program. You should instruct your bus driver not to plan to leave until after all awards are presented. It is extremely disruptive and disrespectful to other schools if your chapter gets up and leaves during the middle of the Awards Program. If a student is not present to accept his or her award, you should have someone accept the award for him/her. If you are not present to receive your awards or do not have another school accept your awards on your chapter s behalf, you will not receive those awards. No awards will be shipped to you. Candidates for Region Office Individuals interested in running for region office for must submit an online application by December 4. Please see the Region Officer Candidate Package on the LiveBinder for more information on applying, running for, and serving as a region officer. Depending on the number of applicants, it may be necessary for candidates to campaign for and be elected to region office at each Region Leadership Conference. RLC Dress Code & Official Dress Implementation All delegates attending the Region Leadership Conference must adhere to the new Georgia FBLA Dress Code (see Dress Code Statement). This will be strictly enforced. Normal school dress will be accepted for RLC Online and Skills testing. You should make a copy of the dress code for all of your students. It is important that you stress to your students that they should not only comply with the limits of the dress code, but they should also make sure that they dress professionally, as if they were dressed for a job interview. Many items might technically conform to the dress code but still not be considered to be professional attire. Please note that this year, competitors in Business Ethics, Client Service, Emerging Business Issues, Impromptu Speaking, Introduction to Business Presentation, Job Interview, Public Speaking I, Public Speaking II, and Sales Presentation are required to adopt the Georgia FBLA Official Dress. Competitors not in Official Dress will receive a 20 point average penalty. Please see page 23 of the Chapter Planning Guide for more information on Official Dress. Students who fail to adhere to the dress code may be disqualified (even if they are allowed to compete) and will not be permitted on stage to accept an award. The professional dress code for all members and advisers is in effect throughout the entire conference, including lunch/dinner and the awards program. Advisers, because of the resources involved with putting on these conference, we cannot spend all of our time enforcing dress code. We rely on advisers to enforce the dress code with their own students as well as to comply with the dress code in their own dress. Advisers should have students sign the dress code form and turn in at the registration desk. This form does not need to be submitted earlier. Leadership Workshop Sessions This year, we are offering leadership workshops at each Region Leadership Conference. Your region adviser will announce at a later date which workshops will be offered at your RLC. Competitive Event General Information Please carefully read the guidelines for all events your chapter enters. You should refer to the Georgia FBLA Competitive Event Guidelines. Please note that there are changes to the way competitive events are administered at the RLC as well as the addition of many new events. Please review the following information closely with your competitors. Keep in mind that competitors in all performance events must are now required to report to their events at the specified time for event orientation prior to the start of the event. Competitors who do not report for event orientation will be disqualified. Performance times will no longer be given prior to the conference. Your Region Adviser will inform you via if there are changes to the tentative agenda. Please note that competitors in all performance events must adopt the Georgia FBLA Official Dress in order to compete. Competitors who are not in the Georgia FBLA Official Dress will be penalized 20 points per judge. Competitive Event Changes for the 2015 RLC There are many changes to the list of competitive events offered at the 2015 Region Leadership Conference. Please refer to the Georgia FBLA Competitive Event Guidelines for more details about these events. Please note that many new events have been added to the RLC events. Additionally, all competitors will be allowed to compete in up to two (2) events. There will not be a separate surcharge for those students competing in a second event. There are restrictions as to which two events members may compete. Please refer to the Competitor Multi-Event Eligibility Rules chart on page 20 of the Chapter Planning Guide. Students with Special Needs If you have a student who needs special accommodations for taking the test, you should complete the Request for Special Services form (available on the LiveBinder) for each student and submit it with your conference registration. Please be advised that because a review of IEP accommodations is required, the proctor(s) for these students must be certified personnel. All accommodations made must be verified as common practice outlined in the IEP. RLC School-site Skills Testing (High School Only) Once again, RLC school-site testing will be conducted prior to the Region Leadership Conferences for the following events: Computer Applications Database Design & Applications Spreadsheet Applications Word Processing

5 Skills testing will occur through November You must submit your RLC Skills Testing Registration Form via no later than October 23. Testing materials will be distributed at the Fall Leadership Conference. If you are not attending FLC, your tests will be mailed to your testing site. Competitors in skills testing must also be registered online for the RLC. Otherwise, their tests will not be graded. Refer to the RLC School-site Skills Testing Instructions on the LiveBinder. Skills Testing requires an adviser from another chapter or one of your school administrators to proctor your students for these events. You may not use a guidance counselor, work based learning coordinator, technology coordinator, or media specialist to proctor the skills events. No exceptions! The production portion will now be worth 100% of the overall RLC Qualifying score. There will not be a written or online testing component to these events at the Region Leadership Conference. Competitors in Skills Testing events must achieve a minimum score on the RLC production test in order to qualify for SLC. Competitors in all skills events must achieve a minimum score of 40 to qualify for SLC. Competitors who do not achieve this score will not advance to SLC. RLC School-site Online Testing (High School & ML) Once again, all objective tests for events at RLC will be administered via the School-site Online Testing Procedures. Competitors will take their test(s) using our online testing system during December 10-11, 14-15, in the following events: Accounting I Banking & Financial Systems Business Calculations Business Communication Economics Entrepreneurship Future Business Leader Global Business Help Desk Hospitality Management Communication Introduction to Financial Math Introduction to Technology Concepts Management Decision Making Management Information Systems Marketing Network Design Parliamentary Procedure Personal Finance Sports & Entertainment Management All Middle Level online testing events Unlike Skills testing, a neighboring adviser does not have to be the proctor for online test events. You may use a school administrator, guidance counselor, media specialist, or technology coordinator to serve as the proctor for online testing; however, the proctor may NOT be another teacher or a recentlyretired teacher at your school. Work Based Learning Coordinators are no longer able to serve as an online testing proctor. You must list the proctor, the proctor s title, and the proctor s mailing address and address on the RLC Online Testing Sites Form. Online Testing Login information for all competitors will be ed no later than two days prior to your testing date, to the adviser to be given to the proctor. All online testing must be completed by December 15. Objective Test/Case Study Events (High School Only) There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. Team members will take separate online objective tests and the team members scores will be averaged to determine the team average. Only the top teams STATEWIDE will advance to SLC. Banking & Financial Systems: Top ten (10) Entrepreneurship: Top ten (10) Help Desk: Top ten (10) Hospitality Management: Top ten (10) Management Decision Making: Top ten (10) Management Information Systems: Top five (5) Marketing: Top ten (10) Network Design: Top five (5) Parliamentary Procedure: Top five (5) Sports & Entertainment Management: Top ten (10) Top scoring individuals that are not part of these teams will also advance to try to qualify for the national super team. Except for Parliamentary Procedure individual qualifiers, these individuals will be placed on state super teams and will participate in the team case study performances at SLC. Technical & Report Events (High School Only) There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. Pre-submitted entries will be prejudged. Only the top entries STATEWIDE will advance to SLC. 3-D Animation: Top twelve (12) Business Financial Plan: Top seven (7) Business Plan: Top twelve (12) Digital Video Production: Top twelve (12) Electronic Career Portfolio: Top twelve (12) Graphic Design: Top twelve (12) Public Service Announcement: Top twelve (12) Publication Design: Top twelve (12) Social Media Campaign: Top twelve (12) Website Design: Top twelve (12) 3-D Animation Competitors should upload their video and submit a URL online by November 17 (LiveBinder). 6 Business Ethics Please note that this event has changed significantly from previous years in that the topic has been announced in advance. Competitors no longer have to submit a synopsis. Competitors in this event must report to the performance room at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. This event is not open to spectators at RLC. Business Financial Plan Competitors should submit their entry online by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. Please refer to Business Financial Plan event guidelines for additional instructions. There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. The file size of the entire Business Financial Plan should not exceed 10 MB. You will need to edit your file if this is the case. Only one file may be submitted. Do not break up your plan into multiple files. Business Plan Competitors should submit their entry online by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. Please refer to Business Plan event guidelines for additional instructions. There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. The file size of the entire Business Plan should not exceed 10 MB. You will need to edit your file if this is the case. Only one file may be submitted. Do not break up your plan into multiple files. Client Service Competitors in this event must report to the holding room to be sequestered at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. Digital Video Production Competitors should upload their video and submit a URL online by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. Please refer to Digital Video Production event guidelines for additional instructions. There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. Electronic Career Portfolio There is no performance/ presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. If submitting as a Website: All Electronic Career Portfolio entry forms must be completed online NO LATER than November 17 to be judged. Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. You must list the URL correctly or your portfolio will not be judged. Portfolios must be accessible on the internet and must be available for judging on November 17 through your RLC date. No changes to the portfolio may be made after November 17. If submitting on CD/DVD: All Electronic Career Portfolio entry forms must be completed and submitted with two copies of the CD/DVD (in separate envelopes) to be judged. CD/DVDs and envelopes must be labeled with names of competitors, school, event, and year. Mail the two envelopes together (do not need to be mailed separately) to Georgia FBLA, 3316-A South Cobb Drive, Suite #229, Smyrna, GA so that the entry is RECEIVED by November 20. Emerging Business Issues Teams in this event will not be sequestered at RLC. Teams in this event must report to the performance room at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. This event is not open to spectators at RLC. Future Business Leader There is no interview component to the Future Business Leader event at RLC. Therefore, no materials need to be pre-submitted. Competitors in this event will only complete an online objective test at the Region level. Only the top 32 individuals STATEWIDE on the objective test will advance to SLC Impromptu Speaking Competitors will deliver a 4-minute impromptu speech on the given topic with a10-minute prep time. Competitors in this event must report to the holding room to be sequestered at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. Introduction to Business Presentation There is no pre-submission requirement for this event. Students must prepare a business presentation on the given topic (refer to Competitive Event Guidelines) and present that presentation to a panel of judges, utilizing multimedia technology. Chapters must provide a laptop and projector for this event. A screen, power supply, and cart/table will be provided. Internet access will NOT be provided for this event. Competitors in this event must report to the performance room at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. Please note that the event eligibility rules have changed and this event is now only open to students in 9 th or 10 th grades.

7 Job Interview Competitors should submit six copies of the letter of application and resume must be submitted in six separate file folders and mailed to Georgia FBLA, 3316-A South Cobb Drive, Suite #229, Smyrna, GA (postmarked by November 17) so that they are RECEIVED by November 20. Please note that the job application form no longer needs to be submitted. Please refer to Job Interview event guidelines for additional instructions. Competitors in this event must report to the performance room at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. All competitors will be interviewed by a panel of judges at RLC. Public Service Announcement Competitors should upload their video and submit a URL online by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. Please refer to Public Service Announcement event guidelines for additional instructions. There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. Public Speaking I Competitors in this event will give a 4-minute prepared speech related to one or more of the 9 FBLA goals. This event is open only to students in grades Competitors in this event must report to the performance room at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. Public Speaking II Competitors in this event will give a 5-minute prepared speech related to one or more of the 9 FBLA goals. Competitors in this event must report to the performance room at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. Sales Presentation There is no pre-submission requirement for this event. Students must prepare a sales presentation on a chosen product present that presentation to a panel of judges. Chapters must provide a laptop and projector for this event. A screen, power supply, and cart/table will be provided. Internet access will NOT be provided for this event. Competitors in this event must report to the performance room at the specified time prior to the start of the event for Event Orientation and to receive performance times. Competitors who do not report prior to the start of the competition will be disqualified. Social Media Campaign Competitors should submit their entry online by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. Please refer to Social Media Campaign event guidelines for additional instructions. There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. The file size of the entire Social Media Campaign should not exceed 10 MB. You will need to edit your file if this is the case. Only one file may be submitted. Do not break up your plan into multiple files. Website Design All Website Design entry forms must be completed online NO LATER than November 17 to be judged. Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. You must list the URL correctly or your website will not be judged. Websites must be accessible on the internet and must be available for judging on November 17 through your RLC date. No changes to the website may be made after November 17. There is no performance/ presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. Publication Design Competitors should submit their entry online by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. Please refer to Publication Design event guidelines for additional instructions. There is no performance/presentation component to this event at the RLC. However, all team members in this event must be registered whether or not they attend the conference. Each file submitted should be less than 2 MB. If the combined file size of all of the files is greater than 10 MB, you may need to submit the jobs separately.

8 Middle Level Creed One member from each Middle Level chapter may compete in Creed. Members who wish to compete at the State Leadership Conference in this event must qualify at RLC by uploading a video of their reciting the Creed by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. The top 15 entries from across the state will advance to the ML State Leadership Conference. There is no live presentation for this event at the RLC. Middle Level Employability Skills Up to five (5) individuals from each Middle Level chapter may compete in Employability Skills. Members who wish to compete at the State Leadership Conference in this event must qualify at RLC by pre-submitting their letters of application, resumes, and job application forms. These items should be uploaded no later than November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. The top 15 entries from across the state will advance to the ML State Leadership Conference. Middle Level Invention Convention One team from each Middle Level chapter may compete in Invention Convention. Members who wish to compete at the State Leadership Conference in this event must qualify at RLC by pre-submitting online their promotion kit as well as a video of their sales pitch by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. The top 15 entries from across the state will advance to the ML State Leadership Conference. There is no live presentation for this event at the RLC. Middle Level Public Speaking One member from each Middle Level chapter may compete in Public Speaking. Members who wish to compete at the State Leadership Conference in this event must qualify at RLC by uploading a video of their delivery of the speech by November 17 (LiveBinder). Use the Wufoo entry form, not the online RLC registration system to submit your entry. The top 15 entries from across the state will advance to the ML State Leadership Conference. There is no live presentation for this event at the RLC. Georgia FBLA Official Dress Required Events Competitors in performance events MUST be dressed in the Georgia FBLA Official Dress. Failure to do so completely will result in a 20 point deduction from each judge s sheet. For team events, all team members must be in complete Georgia FBLA or the point deduction will be assessed for the entire team. Please note that the navy blue scarf is now required for female competitors. While khaki- or tan-colored slacks may be worn with Georgia FBLA Official Dress, you must make sure such slacks are dress slacks as opposed to casual slacks. Please note that if navy slacks or skirts are worn, the color of the slacks and skirts must match the color of the blazer/jacket exactly. Judges will make a decision as to whether each competitor is in Official Dress. All deductions will be verified by a Board of Directors member. Common mistakes are: Wearing a black or striped blazer instead of a solid navy blazer Wearing casual slacks with holes, frays, or tears Wearing a colored shirt instead of a white shirt/blouse Wearing inappropriate shoes Wearing a tie other than the official navy blue FBLA necktie/scarf (the red FBLA necktie/scarf nor the navy blue bowtie are not acceptable) Wearing a t-shirt or camisole instead of a blouse Not wearing the FBLA patch on the blazer Wearing a skirt that is extremely too short Competitors who are not performing in front of a panel of judges are not required to be in Georgia FBLA Official Dress but must still conform to the Georgia FBLA Dress Code of professional dress attire.

9 Competing in Multiple Events Competitors registered for RLC are eligible to compete in up to two (2) events. Please refer to the Competitor Multi-Event Eligibility Rules chart on page 20 of the Chapter Planning Guide. Competitors may only compete in two events within the same group if they are classified as Group A events.
