4 Introducing the Bridge to the Future Fund Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) has always been committed to providing the very best experience for our studentathletes on and off the playing field. We take pride in supporting the academic goals of our student-athletes, providing them superior facilities, and investing in their athletic success. Now more than ever, our student-athletes in all of our thirty-one varsity sports deserve a dynamic educational and athletic environment, one that we have been known for throughout our history. With the unprecedented events of the past few years, the financial ability to sustain our athletics programs at the very highest level of success is temporarily diminished. Financial pressures have created a need to find new and creative means to ensure we can continue providing and building the very best collegiate athletic program in the nation. While current resources are already committed to operating costs and facilities maintenance, many athletics facilities projects now due for renovation or significant upgrades may have to be postponed. To help solve these challenges, ICA has developed, in consultation with donors, an innovative fundraising plan called the Bridge to the Future Fund. The program is designed to help ICA leverage your gifts to facilitate a loan to launch these projects and establish bridge funding until the NCAA financial sanctions expire.

6 THE PLAN FOR funding Intercollegiate Athletics is prepared to secure private support to help pay the borrow up to $30 million for five years to interest on the bridge loan in addition to move forward with a number of critical traditional fundraising to augment the facilities projects but only if it can

7 loan. Without the loan, ICA will not be fans to help us move forward with the able to launch these overdue facilities capital projects that are necessary for projects. We need dedicated alumni and our student-athletes success.

9 FACILITIES Projects The projects listed in the table are currently considered ICA s top priorities. Our plan will enable $25 million of capital improvement to occur with $14.3 million of private support. Further, it will accelerate the timetable for these projects by at least three years. The table outlines the total project cost and the fundraising goal associated with each project. While these goals must be met by June 2016 for the projects to move forward, donors may pay their gift commitments over five years. 10 Recognition of donors As important partners in the future of Intercollegiate Athletics, donors to the Bridge to the Future Fund will be recognized for their contributions. Recognition will be appropriate to the amount of the gift each donor makes toward these critical projects. All donors will have the option to obtain Nittany Lion Club priority points for the value of their gift. To secure ticket and parking benefits in the Nittany Lion Club, a minimum gift of $10,000 annually to the Bridge to the Future Fund is required. Naming Opportunities Intercollegiate Athletics is exploring additional ways to honor donors commitment to our teams both privately and publicly. Attractive naming opportunities in a number of our athletic facilities are available for pledges starting at $25,000.
