3 Information on funding programmes Germany IB/BMBF International Cooperation in Education and Research with countries in CEE The International Bureau provides financial support to German universities, research institutes and SME for cooperation in science and research with partners from CEE countries: Preparation of joint projects for BMBF funding programmes Feasability studies Pilot investigations Max. funding:

5 Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWI): ZIM Central Program for innovations in SMEs The main intentions ti of the programme are to increase Innovation capacities of SMEs. Funding for cooperation projects between SME and research institutions and market-orientated networks of SMEs.

7 Georg Forster Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers Scientists and scholars of all disciplines may apply to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation directly at any time. The Humboldt Foundation grants approximately 600 Humboldt Research Fellowships for postdoctoral t researchers and experienced researchers annually.

9 Deutsch-Polnische Wissenschaftsstiftung The foundation supports projects and activities in the field science and research, which make a contribution to international understanding and further European integration. Those projects and activities should concentrate on humanities, social sciences, economics and law.

15 INTERREG IV - European Territorial Co-operation operation Funding programme for strengthening economic, social and territorial cooperation in Europe. 16 ERDF: Operational Programme 'Infrastructure and Environment' (IaE OP) National Programme Poland The IaE OP supports key investment aimed to sustain and improve the condition of the environment. The programme contains 14 priorities, among them an environment-friendly energy infrastructure and energy efficiency. 17 ERDF: Operational Programme Regional Programmes These programmes provide community assistance depending on the priority areas of the different regions. Those areas could be: entrepreneurship and innovation, economic infrastructure, environment and clean energy, culture, tourism, and interregional i co-operation as well as technical assistance.

18 ERDF: Operational Programme Poland Germany Cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation The overall objective of the Programme is to promote sustainable development and economic competitiveness of the German-Polish border region through an integrated, cross-border approach to economic and social development that involves and benefits local residents and their communities.

19 EU: Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) - FP7 Energy - Photovoltaics Activities in the energy area include, among others, renewable electricity generation. Here one of the 7 thematic areas is that of photovoltaics. Support will be given to the development and demonstration of new processes for photovoltaic equipment manufacturing, standardized and tested building components and the demonstration of the multiple additional benefits of photovoltaic electricity. Longer term strategies for next-generation photovoltaics (both high- efficiency i and low-cost routes) will also be supported.

20 The Eurostars Programme (EUREKA) EUREKA's Eurostars Programme is the first European funding and support programme to be specifically dedicated to SMEs. Eurostars will stimulate them to lead international collaborative research and innovation projects by easing access to support and funding. eureka eu/home
