The digital revolution is changing how small business owners access funding Access to finance is one of the biggest challenges facing small businesses in Australia. But now fintech - the intersection of finance and technology - is transforming the industry, and making it easier for these businesses to get the funding they need to grow. More than a financier, Prospa is a fintech, building real partnerships that help intermediaries grow strong income streams. We are the leading online lender in Australia, and our success has been widely recognised: Over $350 million in business loans 1 Trusted by over 10,000 businesses¹ Winner, Leaders of the Year, and Best Fintech Place to Work, Fintech Australia FINNIES 2017 Lending Innovator of the Year, Fintech Business Awards 2017 Awarded #1 Smart Company in Australia, 2016 Ranked #31 in the world and first in Australia, KPMG Fintech100 Global Innovators 2016 Finalist, Telstra Business Awards, Best Medium Business 2016, Best Start-up 2015 Winner Deloitte Tech Fast50, 2015 No one knows small business lending better than we do. And no one has more channel experience. We ll help you find customers, connect them to the funding they need, and create a revenue stream that you can scale quickly. Matt Bauld General Manager of Sales and Business Development, Prospa F I NT E CH AWA RDS ¹ May 2017 WINNER 3
A huge problem for small business owners is a huge opportunity for you 20% 40% 90% of small business owners need cash flow finance at least once a year report short-term cash flow as the most common reason for seeking finance of small business failures are due to poor cash flow The small business market has long been starved of the ability to access unsecured funding. Research by ASIC shows the biggest problem for small business owners is access to finance either to seize an opportunity or manage cash flow. Potential customers come from many different industries but have two things in common: They need working capital quickly Traditional funding sources are too challenging or require security Sources: ABS data 2010, ASIC
$20 billion Estimated value of the small business financing market in Australia within five years Prospa has taken the problem of access to finance for small business, and solved it. We re a fintech company, using technology to transform the way small business owners experience finance. It s difficult to imagine a world without the internet or mobile devices. People now expect instant access to everything via their phone, including money. Technology enables us to deliver faster, easier access to funding where and when people want it. This digital revolution is disrupting the traditional financial services industry, and the pace of change is accelerating. At Prospa, we believe that Australia s small business finance market will reach a value of A$20 billion within five years. It s an exciting time to be part of the industry Prospa is developing new products for brokers to distribute, and business owners need help to understand their options. You re already a trusted advisor to small business owners. Partner with Prospa to connect customers to the funding they need, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 5
When you re growing a business you need money for different areas of growth as you progress. I had been given so many opportunities I had to say no to because I couldn t afford to supply the stock and wait for the account to be paid. I was talking to the gentlemen who organised my car finance, and he suggested Prospa. So I applied and it was the very next day when a Prospa representative called me and said: I ve got good news for you, you ve got your money! How good is that! 11 Scenarios Professional Services Background An accountant wanted to buy his retiring partner s share of their business. He could raise most of the purchase price but needed additional funds. No company finance facility references were available. Electrical Services Background A mid-sized electrical business was having difficulty making wages and paying suppliers due to late payment of invoices. They were unable to obtain a debtor facility because their clients were mainly consumer, not business. Solution Prospa recognised committed revenue from existing clients and provided unsecured finance of $70,000 over 10 months with weekly repayments. The transaction was successfully completed. Solution Prospa funded $25,000 over 6 months with weekly repayments, with the customer approved for an additional $10,000 if required. The business was able to pay staff on time and secure an early payment discount from suppliers. Cafe Background A café wanted to renovate existing premises to create additional capacity, and install new signage. The owners did not have property to offer as security. Solution Prospa provided $12,000 over 12 months with daily repayments. The business grew rapidly and turnover increased by 25% over the loan term, with plans to open a second location in the coming year. Retailer Background A homewares store needed to pay for extra stock for Christmas trading in advance to maximise revenue opportunities. They had an ATO debt under arrangement, so no traditional funding was available. Solution The customer had existing capability to support loan repayments, so Prospa was able to provide $30,000 over 5 months with daily repayments. Bulk stock was secured at a 40% discount and some of the funds were used for promotion, generating ROI of 13%. 11

Paul, Prospa Partner VIC *Prospa Uplift Marketing Portal (PUMP) is our free online marketing tool exclusively designed for our valued partners. 13

Typically they re businesses who have got quite a healthy strong turnover, and they need the funds really quickly to complete a project, win a contract, or get through a certain period. But they don t want to borrow against their home. Of all of the finance that we provide, Prospa provides the most simple process for us as brokers to be able to get from A to Z. The customers are happy and satisfied with Prospa. And we still maintain that relationship by coming up with the ideal solution that helped that customer. Glen, Prospa Partner, WA 18
