1 Mission Statement Our goal is to invest in the future of women by providing scholarships in the food, wine, hospitality and nutrition related industries. To express our respect for education, we have created the "Les Dames Culinary and Hospitality Arts Scholarship" program. The program is open to any and all women. Eligibility Must be a female who is planning to pursue a career in the culinary/hospitality/nutrition arts. Must plan to attend a two year college, four year university or vocational institution. If you are a High School Student, you must maintain a 3.0 GPA. High School transcripts are required if you are just graduating from high school. If you are already enrolled in a culinary/hospitality/nutrition arts program you must have a 3.0 GPA or better. Please include a copy of your current grades. You must have aspiration, initiative and goals related to the culinary/hospitality/nutrition industry. You will be asked to personally interview with the scholarship committee. Scholarship Amounts Two Year and Vocational Institutions: $1,000 annually for 2 years. Four Year Institutions: $2,000 annually for 4 years. A recipient who attends a Two Year or Vocational Institution may apply for an additional scholarship if proceeding on to a Four Year Institution and is in good standing with LDEIPS. Application Scholarship funds may be used for tuition or program fees only. Funds may not be applied to living expenses. Scholarship applications must be received no later than May 1 st. Late applications will not be considered. All required materials must be received together by the deadline. Letters of reference must be attached to the application. Use a separate page for each response: 1. What has motivated you to pursue your desire for a career in a culinary or hospitality/nutrition related field? 2. Why have you chosen your particular training program and what do you expect to gain from it? 3. What experience have you had in your field that you feel would distinguish you from other applicants? 4. What are your financial needs to pursue these goals? References Two letters of career recommendation and two letters of personal recommendation must accompany this application. Career references should be on business letterhead and written by persons other than relatives. If possible, career references should be closely associated with your professional culinary career or with your education.
