2 Page 1 W E LCOME! Welcome to the Innovations in Transportation and Technology: County Leadership Peer Exchange! The National Association of Counties is hosting this event with support from the Federal Highway Administration to explore innovations and technology in county and regional transportation planning. Thank you for taking the time to join us here in Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. We are excited for two days of compelling presentations and lively discussions on national trends and local solutions in innovations and technology in transportation planning. We are looking forward to hearing about creative approaches here in Iowa to foster economic growth and improve local transportation systems, and learning about how counties and states across the country are integrating new technology advancements into transportation to improve how people and goods get around. Additionally, we are pleased to be working with the National Advanced Driving Simulator, housed at the University of Iowa's Oakdale Research Park, to learn about current transportation safety and human behavior research and tour their suite of world-class driving simulators and instrumented vehicles. Please join us in providing social media updates during the peer exchange! Follow along on Twitter Again, thank you for taking the time to travel to Johnson County. We hope this event is beneficial to you and your community. Please be sure to complete the evaluation forms to help us improve our offerings, and please do not hesitate to share your feedback with NACo staff here at the event or after you return home.
