5 training in Berguedà people prepared for the new challenges As a consequence of globalization, regions and cities are confronted at a new level of competition. In Berguedà we have several teaching centers to train new entrepreneurs, qualified workers and young people with initiative. Berguedà has 7 secondary education centers, complemented by several vocational educational cycles, some of which are dual training (theoretical classes and paid internships in companies). There are also other centers that help train personnel such as the Berga Adult School, several language schools, public and private entities in the territory, or the Berguedà Development Agency, which organizes theoretical and practical courses in sectors such as textiles., forestry, welding, among others. In addition, many students of the Berguedà region are nourished by the training offer (FP) of neighbouring districts in different fields such as Computing, Installation and maintenance or building and civil works. Berguedà is a territory of entrepreneurship. Proof of this are the programs CUEME and EJE to promote the entrepreneurial fabric from the Schools and Institutes. Within the framework of these programs, we enjoy the biggest market (with more different cooperative schools) in Catalonia. Within the university environment, and in a close environment, there is the University of Vic, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) or the University Foundation of Bages, which offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, such as several Engineering, Studies Business, Health or Science, among others. We have people ready to add value to the companies of the territory
