5 SECTION 3 Project description 3.1 Project objectives and expected results Project objective and justification What is the project s objective and how does it link to the Fund s principles and priorities, as outlined in the call for proposals? What is the common challenges that the project is going to address? What is the project s approach/method in addressing the challenges of the chosen support area? Please make sure to address the chosen support area or areas if the project concerns more than one. Expected project results What are the project s main expected results (outcomes and outputs) and how will the possible indicators be used for measuring of outcomes to the selected target groups/end beneficiaries? How will the project s results contribute to a shared solutions of the support area? 3.2 Project geographical spread and establishment of cross sectoral partnerships (public, private, academia, NGOs etc,); What are the European challenges to be addressed by the project? Place your project within the context described in the call. Project partners may cooperate in one of two ways: 1. Regional cross-border cooperation between eligible countries (regional focus) 2. Transnational cooperation between eligible countries Cross-border cooperation means cooperation between border regions whereas transnational cooperation involves cooperation between partners (not necessarily neighbouring) in a much larger area Explain why the project goals cannot be efficiently reached acting only on a national/local level and/or describe what benefits the project partners/target groups/project area will gain from taking a cross-border or transnational approach and cooperation. 6 3.3 Sustainability of project outputs and outcomes How will the project ensure that outputs and outcomes have a lasting effect beyond project duration?
