2 Market Guidelines The Folly Beach Farmers Market (FBFM) is a free event provided for the community featuring music/entertainment, kids activities, education, food trucks, local farmers and artisans. The market takes place Monday evenings from 4-8pm in the Folly River Park from March through October/November. FBFM is seeking interested farmers and vendors who support our mission to take part in the 2018 market season. Sarah Poe will continue to serve as our market manager. Please direct any questions to Sarah at thefollybeachfarmersmarket@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to working with you during 2018 as the FBFM continues to grow and inspire sustainable living. General Rules All vendors must read, complete and submit application fee prior to participation. Setup can begin at 2:30pm, and all vendors must be in place 15 minutes (3:45pm) before market starts. Please contact the market manager if you will be running late. No vendor may breakdown before closing time without prior 48h prior approval. All vendors must submit monthly payments via PayPal (thefollybeachfarmersmarket@gmail.com) or check (payable to Folly Beach Farmers Market) prior to the first Monday market of each month. Checks should be mailed to: Folly Beach Farmers Market P.O. Box 1395 Folly Beach, SC A viable market requires participation from all vendors. Regular attendance is required, and vendor fees are non-refundable. If there is an issue committing to weekly attendance, please notify market manager in your application for consideration. Market manager is not responsible for finding replacement vendors. The FBFM has limited space and a vendor waiting list. This list will be updated and provided on a monthly basis for vendors who need to schedule a replacement. Weather Policy Market is rain or shine; vendor fees will not be reimbursed for vendors who chose not to come due to weather if market is open. The market will be cancelled if the weather is deemed to be unsafe on the day of the market. If market is cancelled, notice will be sent via . Monthly fees for participation in the FBFM support our market manager, marketing cost and all costs to run a viable market. *If our season accumulates a large number of cancellations due to hazardous weather we will readdress this policy to find a mutually beneficial solution.

3 License and Permits It is the responsibility of all vendors to research and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing the sale of their items. Please contact DHEC to get all legal forms to be in compliance with state and local laws concerning permits and use of DHEC approved kitchen. All approved vendors will be required to obtain a 2018 Folly Beach Business License (available at the City office on Center Street). Vendor Fees All applicants are subject to $10 application fee to be considered for the market. Vendor booth fees are $25 per week for one space paid MONTHLY in advance each month. *Shared vending spaces must be approved by the market manager and will require additional fee of $15 per business. Food Truck fees will be $40 per market. Specific non-profit and charitable organizations will be accepted to set up at the market free of charge. Folly Beach Farmers Market Collective In 2018 we are transitioning to create The Folly Beach Farmers Market as a collective, a cooperative enterprise. We believe that we are meant to live in harmony with each other and the planet and in order to work towards this goal, our Farmers Market Family will be a collective for the highest good for each other and the planet. Participation By actively taking part and contributing to the mission of the Folly Beach Farmers Market we are able to support all participants in their chosen craft. Monthly vending fees create a consistent, dependable income which is necessary for a viable market. Participation in the FBFM supports our overall mission, including education and service to our community. Vendor Fees Vendors will be investing in the Folly Beach Farmers Market as a cooperative enterprise. Vending fees are due by the first of each month. This fee of $100 (4 weeks in the month) or $125 (5 weeks in the month) may be paid via PayPal (thefollybeachfarmersmarket@gmail.com) or check (payable to Folly Beach Farmers Market at P.O. Box 1395 Folly Beach SC 29439) by the 1 st of each month. This fee reserves a physical location to sell each Monday from 4-8 at the Folly River Park and provides a link on our website to your website or social media platform for the entire season. Throughout the season your business will be highlighted and supported through our website and social media in an effort to help you create a market base and grow your business. Education We hope to help our community and visitors learn about growing organic food in an effort to create food independence for ALL. We all deserve clean food. We want to educate and support

4 local farmers and individuals to grow more food, to be caretakers of the earth and to take responsibility for how our food is grown. We hope to inspire more community gardens, backyard gardeners and to help foster relationships between our customers and their local farmers. We intend to reconnect people with the source of their food and products they purchase. Culture We believe that culture and storytelling are sacred gifts to nurture and share. Every culture has a story to tell and we want to share the diversity of culture with our community. By sharing cultural traditions we create a safe space to cultivate understanding and appreciation for our unique backgrounds as we walk towards unity and harmony. Humanitarian and Environmental Protective Organizations As a collective we are able to give back to our community and the world by hosting a number of humanitarian and environmental protective organizations both locally and globally. We think locally but act globally as a beacon of light. Your vending fees and our membership support will allow us to host these groups at our market and through our social media. We have supported fantiastic organizations who are doing amazing things to make the world better. Organizations like Surfers Healing, Warrior Surf Foundation, Heart, Folly Green and Green Heart grow through our collective support. Our Farmers Market is a gathering space for our community and we have the opportunity and more so, the responsibility, to use this platform for the highest good. Tourism Not only a marketplace to connect our local community; we are also a gathering space that welcomes visitors from around the globe. We have the rare opportunity to host 1,000s of guests each season as families and friends from all over the world come to visit our little island on the Edge of America. We have the privilege and even more, a responsibility, to be the best hosts we can be. We want to welcome each and every guest to Folly Beach with our best aloha. The Folly Beach Farmers Market is held each Monday from 4-8 at the Folly River Park. Most of our guests arrive on Sundays and we invite them to stop by the market to get to know our community, enjoy live music, our food trucks and to get a taste of local produce, fresh shrimp and more!
