ALL criteria must be met at the time of the award which will be Fall 2017&/or Spring 2018 Important Note: IF APPLYING TO THE BUSINESS MAJOR AT THE SAME TIME AS APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS, VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you are applying for scholarships prior to being admitted into the upper division major (impaction application due March 1, 2017) for Fall 2017, please follow these instructions EXACTLY: Your supplemental application for admission to the business major must be completed and submitted by or before February 8, 2017 to the Undergraduate Business Advising Center (Supplemental Business Application will be available online beginning February 1, 2017 at You must provide a copy of your Supplemental Business Application along with your Scholarship Application Your admission eligibility will be verified before scholarship applications are reviewed. Preference also given to students who demonstrate service to the community and/or campus. You must mention these interests, goals and invovement in your essay. 2 American Marketing Association Sacramento Valley Chapter Outstanding Future Marketer Scholarship Concentration Any, Graduate Minimum GPA Required 3.0 Enrollment Status At least half time Active member in good standing of AMA Student Club at Sacramento State for at least two months. Award Amount Varies between $250 and $500, according to award. See below for details. Award Semester(s) Spring This scholarship can be awarded to more than one student. $500 award for an outstanding club officer and two $250 awards for outstanding club members. Please include resume and write a word essay addressing the following prompts: 1. How has your involvement in the AMA club helped you prepare for your career? 2. How do you plan on continuing your marketing education after graduation? 3. How will your study of marketing contribute to your immediate and long-term career plans? 4. Award Amount Varies - up to CA tuition and fees & Spring Recipient must be a declared Business Administration major and have at least one semester remaining at the time of the award Institute of Internal Auditors Scholarship Concentration All concentrations Enrollment Status At Least Half-Time Recipient will be expected to participate in IIA Student Nights, workshops, events and programs and help to educate other students about what the Institute of Internal Auditors has to offer. Award Amount $2, & Spring Applicants must be willing and interested in participating in Institute of Internal Auditors meetings, networking events and/or luncheons. 3

5 Thomas Matlock Excellence in Leadership & Networking Scholarship, MBA General Minimum GPA Required 3.0 The recipient must be involved in campus and/or community organizations and must demonstrate through work, leadership, campus organizations, community organizations, associations, etc a commitment to leadership and networking.. Award Amount Varies Donald R. Wagner Scholarship for students interested in entrepreneurship and/or starting a business Minimum GPA Required 3.25 The recipient must be involved in campus and/or community organizations and must demonstrate through work, leadership, campus organizations, community organizations, associations, etc a commitment to leadership and networking.. Award Amount Up to $2500 Preference given to students in the Business Honors Program and those in the Entrepreneurship concentration, but open to all concentrations for students interested in entrepreneurship and/or starting a business. Applicants must respond to the following in a separate essay: 1. List the extracurricular activities you have been involved with at Sac State including participation in student organizations, business-related competitions, projects and conferences. If you are transferring to Sac State, please answer by referencing your activities at your previous institution. 2. What do you hope to do with your business degree? How has your education, your extracurricular activities and your life experiences helped you prepare for your career? 3. Leadership, independence, resourcefulness, initiative, an entrepreneurial mindset, a problem-solving attitude, a broad but realistic vision, and a willingness to engage and deal with challenging situations such as difficult negotiations are all important qualities and skills in today s business world. Have any of your experiences in class, in extracurricular activities, or in life helped you develop one or more of these qualities. Explain briefly. 5

MBA Students MNA Leadership Excellence Scholarship Concentration All Masters in Business Adminstration concentrations Class Standing Required Current MBA student Minimum GPA Required 3.0 or Part-time Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a comittment to leadership through their coursework, membership in clubs or societies, professional experiences (including internships) community involvement, and/or other compelling evidence. The recipient is expected to consistently attend MNA events.. Award Amount $1500 Must be a current MBA student. 6

7 Accountancy Concentration: Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Scholarship Minimum GPA Required 3.0 Recipient must be either a member of the Accounting Society or Beta Alpha Psi. Award Amount $1500 Must have completed or plan to take one or more of the following courses Fraud Examination, Forensic Accounting, Business Ethics. You must submit an additional essy for this scholarship, no more than 250 words describing your interest in fraud examination and forensic accounting. Applicants MUST submit a second essay to address this specific question: Why are you interested in the study of Entrepreneurship; and how do you intend to utilize these studies in Entrepreneurship in your career? 9
