2 CTNAP (Connecticut Nutrition Assistance Program) What is it? Collaboration with Connecticut Food Bank as a PDO The Food Center's Nutrition Assistance Program (CTNAP) provides credit to agencies providing emergency food services in order to purchase high protein foods for distribution. Each region of the State receives a percent of the overall food available based on census and poverty statistics. Allocations of food to recipient agencies are determined by the number of individuals and the number of meals they serve as reported on required monthly statistics submitted to the Food Center. No prior reporting or additional paperwork required to be completed by families. Agencies receiving CTNAP food pay a handling fee of $0.05 per pound for the food. There have been typically 3 deliveries per year (March, June, September). Payment is given to Warehouse Product Manager (Sara) through check or money order prior to picking up 1 st delivery for the year s total deliveries.
3 2014 vs Changes in the Requirements DSS allocated an additional $400,000 to the state to be redistributed as credits for additional funds to be allocated among CTNAP participating agencies to supplement product available at emergency food programs. New data collection requirements and paperwork effective July 1st.
