7 FELS Forgivable Education Loans for Service FELS provides assistance to qualified students enrolled in an approved education program and committed to working in critical employment shortage professions in NC. Requirements: Be a legal NC Resident & complete RDS. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 for HS Students & 2.8 for students pursuing AS or BA degree. Register with Selective Service, if required. Must not be in default or not owe a refund under any federal or state loan or grant program. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress Be willing to work in NC in a designated critical employment shortage profession. Must plan to enroll in at least 6 credit hours in an Approved Program.
